Who we are looking for
As a DevOps Automation Engineer at State Street you will be part of an exciting transformation Global Banking Modernization program, where you will develop & support of CI/CD pipelines, used for various fit-for-purpose environments and review. You will implement industry best practices and technologies to reduce incidents including response time and time to resolution. In this role you will implement automation solutions for private/hybrid/public cloud platforms focused on infrastructure provisioning, continuous integration, continuous build, test automation, monitoring automation, alerting, auto-ticketing, risk management, software life-cycle management, and AI/ML automation. You will implement solutions for interface simulators to provide production-like behaviors and develop strategies for incorporating test bed data to be used real-time and/or during environment provisioning. You will implement engineering solutions to enable successful migrations from current state to target state. Your engineering skills will promote and implementation solutions and support DevOps objectives of availability, scalability, performance, security, maintainability, flexibility, portability, and reusability.
This role can potentially be performed fully remotely from home within the United States.
What you will be responsible for?
A DevOps Automation Engineer at State Street is one who
  • Builds version control, build automation, test orchestration automation, and configuration management automation solutions
  • Performs pipeline integrations with 3rd party CICD tools (Example: be able to integrate JIRA, SonarQube, BlackDuck, Ansible with Harness and/or Jenkins)
  • Utilizes pipeline orchestration tools for cloud stack provisioning and deployments with high-availability (blue/green deployments)
  • Provides level 1 support of all test and level 2-3 support of pre-prod/break-fix and production environments
  • Produces documentation deliverables explaining the automation processes
  • Automates release deployments across all environments using a combination of scripting languages and other automation tools, while eliminating any current manual steps
  • Prototypes automated workflows with comparative analysis
  • Provides incident response, triaging, and resolutions
  • Develops automated monitoring and alerting solutions utilizing open source, vendor, and/or custom software
  • Updates automation scripts for future issue prevention
  • Monitors and manages the efficient use of software and platform resources through continuous improvement techniques
  • Builds and/or integrates available software environment build provisioning capabilities from requirements through deployment
  • Analyzes the end-to-end service stack for resiliency and efficiencies
  • Creates flexible and dynamic automation processes that are easily updated as changes occur
  • Delivers solutions for validating environment deployments
  • Designs solutions capable of retrieving, altering, and reusing test bed data
  • Engineers and/or integrates vendor solutions to provide for interface simulations
  • Executes synthetic user and systematic health monitoring capabilities
  • Promotes ML/AI practices to provide proactive monitoring and alerting
  • Participates and contributes to discussions involving application configurations, systems performance tuning, and infrastructure and middleware integration.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s or Associateโ€™s degree in related or relevant field
  • 3+ yearsโ€™ experience as a Full-Stack Software Developer
  • Strong Experience with scripting languages and other CI/CD automation tools/frameworks such as Maven, GIT, Jenkins, Harness, JFrog Artifactory, Spinnaker, Bitbucket, Puppet, Ansible, Chef, Terraform, Groovy, Python, Gitlab, Bamboo, Powershell, Bash, VMware/Hyper-V, SonarQube, Fortify, BlackDuck, SonarQube, Fortify, Ruby, Perl, PHP, GO, and Java
  • Experience automating deployments for containerized environments (Docker and Kubernetes)
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Grafana, Splunk, Prometheus, Nagios, Zabbix, Checkmk, and Dynatrace
  • Experience in continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD)
  • Experience with selenium & Cucumber BDD framework
  • Experience in providing operational support and look for ways to gain operational efficiencies.
Additional requirements
  • Experience in working at large financial services organizations
  • Experience with banking payment systems
  • Ability to make strong analytic decisions, including situations with ambiguity and/or uncertainty
  • Technical Certifications in AWS, Azure, Jenkins and other CICD tools would be a plus
