UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE IN BUSINESS, TECHNOLOGY, OR ENGINEERING (OR SIMILAR) AND MINIMUM 2 YEARS OF RELEVANT BA WORK REQUIRED. SPONSORSHIP IS NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. IMMEDIATE HIRES ONLY – DO NOT APPLY IF YOU ARE A FULL-TIME STUDENT.
The Team:
We’re an energetic team of repeat entrepreneurs building SaaS for e-commerce in a white-hot industry. We’re a team of 15 and we wear hats, a lot of hats. It’s basically a hat shop. But at the end of the day we’re creators who love to work hard and learn from each other. We might debate fiercely on our Zooms, but at the end of the day we’ll all share a few (COVID-friendly) pints and laughs. We celebrate our successes and failures equally, and we never let an idea go unchallenged.
You:
The ideal candidate will use their passion for data investigation, manipulation, automation and analytics to help shape our software and onboard customers. You will be responsible for conducting both recurring and ad hoc analysis for internal users as well as customers. As we are a software company, this position is very technical.
You will have a strong desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced startup environment, and will have customer-facing communication qualities, as we are often very transparent in our communications.
This is a growth role for self-directed individuals with technical aptitude – we have aggressively promoted internally from this role.
Responsibilities:
- Understand the day-to-day issues that our customers face, and use our software and other tools to solve these business challenges
- Work with customers to help map data into and out of our software, using a variety of toolkits – spreadsheets, data integration software (e.g. APIs), etc.
- Use company tools to convert spreadsheet data into normalized data structures, similar in practice to an ETL process
- Validate software bugs, as well as bug fixes, using before-and-after comparisons to ensure customer satisfaction
- Develop clear visualizations to convey complicated data in a straightforward fashion
- Communicate with clients regularly – ask questions when/where appropriate, document & implement solutions, and suggest improvements where possible
- Communicate with the team effectively – stress priority items when necessary, and work with the software development team to prioritize + implement new features and fixes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering or equivalent experience
- 1 – 2 years’ Business Analysis experience
- 1 – 2 years’ experience with software communication tools, including Jira, Confluence, Slack, and Github
- Working knowledge of SQL or similar relational datastores
- Working knowledge of data transformation practices, e.g. ETL
- Proficient in Excel
You’ll be a character fit if you
- enjoy the challenges and rewards of working in a *very* early stage startup (very strong preference for someone who has worked in a <50 person company)
- are constantly engaging with new people
- have the discipline and desire to manage high-visibility client relationships with major brands
What you get:
- excellent benefits, including top-of-the-line health/dental/vision/disability/life insurance, 401k, commuter benefits, generous vacation, BYOD compensation, etc.
- flexible work environment – e.g. working from home, shifted hours, etc.
- potentially, equity shares in the company, depending on your experience
- the unique experience, pride and status that comes from being one of the first employees of a software startup
- the opportunity to build your own team as we expand, and shape the entire company/product
