As a Data Analyst, the candidate will use their passion for big data and analytics to provide insights to the business covering a range of topics. They will be responsible for conducting both recurring and ad hoc analysis for business users.
Overview:
The Quantitative Analysts’ primary responsibility is to develop business intelligence products and perform analysis in support of Asurion Data Science (DS) team. The Data Science Team identifies and address complex business problems, design, and drive the creation of new data products and analytical capabilities embedded in multiple business applications. The analyst in this role will primarily be providing analytical support and a robust reporting infrastructure for multiple DS efforts geared towards improving business efficiency and customer experience. The ideal candidate will be experienced at analyzing data and presenting compelling and insightful analyses that drives business decisions. Additionally, they will be able to learn and apply advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to analysis and solutions to maximize impact and efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as data, analytics, and problem-solving SME to support strategic projects
- Utilize business intelligence tools and analytic skills to develop reports, create dashboards, and deliver data products to identify opportunities and drive actionable outcomes
- Conduct in-depth insights focused analysis to support the expansion, development, and optimization of Data Science efforts
- Tell a story with data to our stakeholders through visualization.
- Be an expert in the collection, aggregation, and presentation of data from disparate sources through the ability to write complex queries and develop dashboards. Enhance processes through automation.
- Apply descriptive statistics and develop alerts/alarms using statistical process control and other techniques.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the business problem, gather business requirements, and deliver reporting products
- Own the integrity of work and actions; operate with a high degree of autonomy in a direct support relationship to primary customers and meet all requirements with minimal management oversight
- Identify opportunities and pursue process improvements within data products
- Leverage advanced analytics including text and voice analytics as needed to drive the business
- Advise the team on the proper structure and buildout of product reporting tools and dashboards
- Conduct regular updates and maintenance to reports to stay in line with changing business needs
- Advise Enterprise Data Services on data requirements in support of product reporting and analysis
What You’ll Bring to The Team:
- Bachelor’s degree in MIS or Quantitative Disciplines (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Business Analytics).
- At least 2 years’ experience in using analytics to solve business problems.
- High-energy and a desire to work in a results-oriented, fast-growth environment.
- Intellectual curiosity, passion for problem-solving and comfort with ambiguity.
- Superior quantitative and analytical skills and a passion for achieving practical business impact.
- Strong interpersonal skills including confidence in dealing with people at all levels of the organization, ability to manage intake, and present insights.
- Proficiency with SQL queries, Excel, and PowerPoint required
- Experience with relational databases and query tools required
- Experience with data visualization and presentation tools, preferably Power BI, preferred.
- Experience with common data science languages/tools (e.g., R, Python, SAS, JMP), preferred
- Understanding of statistical concepts and experience in applying techniques (Random Forest, SVM, NLP), preferred
