Join Takeda as a Scientist/Sr Scientist, Artificial Intelligence, Cell Therapy Innovation where you will apply cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies to the discovery and process development of cell therapy products. You will also help establish and optimize AI pipelines to accelerate cell therapy discovery and process development. You will contribute to bring cell therapies to save patient’s lives. As part of the Cell Therapy, you will report to Associate Director, Novel Technologies. Our novel technology team is focused on advancing Takeda cell therapy drug discovery pipeline through the development of novel technologies.
How you will contribute:

Build the corpus and develop AI models and algorithms for text information extraction, syntactic and semantic analysis, and interpret data through data visualization to provide text information support for project teams.

Extract omics data from public database and develop machine learning pipelines to analyze omics data (transcriptomic, genomic, metabolomic, etc.) for target identification of different cell therapy projects.

Explore novel machine learning methods to generate optimal chimeric antigen receptor sequence.

Explore new AI applications in cell therapies (process image analysis, etc.) to grow the discovery and development.

Data annotation, data cleaning and dataset building for specific projects and downstream AI prediction and analysis.

Collaboration with project teams to plan and implement project specific machine learning and data analysis programs.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
-
PhD’s degree in Computer Science, bioinformatics, computational biology, system biology or other similar science and engineering disciplines, with 0+ year experience.

Master’s degree in Computer Science, bioinformatics, computational biology, system biology or other similar science and engineering disciplines, with 4+ year experience.
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, bioinformatics, computational biology, system biology or other similar science and engineering disciplines, with 7+ year experience.

Experience with at least one of the focuses: natural language processing, text mining, protein sequence design, omics data analysis (RNA seq, etc.) computer vision.

Expertise with many of the following areas: supervised learning, unsupervised learning, deep learning, deep generative models, transfer learning.

Experience working in cloud and high-performance computing environments (e.g. AWS), and experience working in a Unix/Linux environment.

Excellence in core machine learning languages (such as Python, R, Java, C++) with Python and R preferred. Familiar with machine learning tools and packages (Tensorflow, Pytorch, Scikit Learn, pandas, numpy, etc.)

Experience with database systems (SQL, NoSQL) desired.

Lead and run research projects while keeping close communication with the team.

Interpret computational language in a way that the stakeholders with biology/immunology background can understand.
