Junior Business Analyst Hyde Park hybrid two days a week onsite Long term project KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least five years of related business analyst and testing experience required.
  • Experience with automated software testing tools.
  • Experience writing basic SQL queries.
  • Basic understanding of the project management and software development lifecycles.
  • Experience with Agile software development lifecycle preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow IT and other university policies regarding data security and protection required.

  • Experience with Agile product development lifecycle methodology
  • Work closely with PMO team to gather requirements and create the Product Backlog
  • Create new or improve existing user stories. Be able to develop User Stories and write clear acceptance criteria
  • Be able to present backlog to the Scrum team
  • Ability to study existing applications to develop requirements for application replacement
  • Coordinate technical design of new features/software with Application Development
  • Create basic mockups for the purpose of illustrating the new UI and user experience
  • Ability to independently research and analyze requirements
  • Be able to develop use cases and develop test plans for features
  • Execute test plans and Verify that completed work meet the acceptance criteria Analysis
  • Consults with business customers to gather information about system needs, objectives, functions, features, and input and output requirements
  • Elicits requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis
  • Analyzes, defines, and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs
  • Critically evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
  • Designs screen layouts, graphical user interfaces, reports, and interfaces with other systems.
  • Applies business process reengineering techniques to redesign and improve business processes.
  • Must be able to understand and communicate effectively with all levels of both business and technical team members Quality Assurance
  • Creates test plans, test cases and test data.
  • Tests software and services to compare to requirements and documentation.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and documents defects, questionable functions, errors, and inconsistencies in software program functions, outputs, online screens, and content.
  • Performs simple SQL queries against databases to validate test results.
  • Creates and executes automated test scripts using testing software applications.
  • Coordinates testing by testers, consultants, business users and third parties.
  • Creates test transactions and runs tests to find errors and confirm systems meet specifications. Training and Support
  • Supports Booth faculty, staff and students on the use of technology tools and applications.
  • Provides technical assistance by responding to inquiries from others regarding errors, problems, or questions about tools and applications.
  • Develops training materials and/or video content and provides training on the use of technology tools and applications. Job #: 22-21428
