WHAT WILL YOU DO:
Description
- Interprets complex data requests or business needs and translates into written requirements that allows for a team to design, develop, implement, troubleshoot, and deliver a reusable operational product.
- Defines, captures, qualifies, enriches, explores, documents and preps data to support desired result set that effectively communicates not only the required results but identifies data quality issues that might be impactful
- Defines, develops, and implements automation of data integration, processes, and interfaces.
- Liaison between IT and Business to facilitate testing and implementation of data solutions.
- Identifies patterns, gaps, errors, anomalies, inconsistencies, and redundancies by analyzing the content, structure, and relationships within disparate systems.
- Interprets results to identify significant differences in data.
- May develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
- Assists in determining database structural requirements by analyzing business operations and application functional needs; reviews objectives with business, developers and database administrators and evaluates current systems.
- Leverages mature data with variable/algorithm selection, predictive and behavioral analytics to identify emerging risks and issues beyond operational controls.
- Troubleshoots and resolves problems related to systems and applications.
- Provides thorough, visible, rigorous and transparent data reports and analysis.
- Tracks trends and provides recommendations for solutions based on findings.
- Interprets and communicates analytical insights to audiences with various analytical backgrounds using different but suitable communication methods for different audiences.
- Develops visually appealing and intuitive dashboards that provide visibility into key performance, risk and control indicators across agency divisions and departments.
- Delivers quality results and presentations under short timelines.
- Applies a broad range of techniques and theories from business intelligence, data analysis and visualization, statistics, predictive analytics, and data modeling to deliver actionable business insights based on large-scale data.
- Understands and maintains existing BI solutions.
- Serves as a central resource for reports interpretation and assists with developing specifications for reports.
- Provides training and technical assistance to agency staff on processes, applications, and reporting.
- Participates on agency committees and special projects as assigned.
- Performs quality assurance and serves as a subject matter expert on data integrity, extraction, testing and compilation.
- Performs related work as assigned.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Required Education
- Bachelorโs degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
- High school diploma or equivalent and additional full-time, related experience may substitute for the required education on an equivalent year for year basis.
Required Experience
- Five (5) years of full-time experience in data analytics, SQL, SSIS, business intelligence and visualization tools and MS Office Suite, or related fields.
- Advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis
Required Registration, Certification, or Licensure
- None.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelorโs degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Information Technology, Data Analytics, Business or a related field.
- Experience with SQL, SSRS, SSIS, MS Visual Studio.
- Experience working with star-schema data warehouses and relational databases.
- Experience mapping and extracting large amounts of data from structured and unstructured sources.
- Experience with data modeling.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Strong knowledge of business intelligence tools, databases, SQL and various job associated programming languages to support data analysis and predictive analytics.
- Database modeling and data warehousing principles.
- Extensive knowledge of complex data models is a definite plus.
- Project management and system development life cycle concepts.
Skill in:
- Extensive use of data analysis, data mining, data cleansing and data validation sills.
- Experience with migrating data from legacy systems is a definite plus.
- Using technical and statistical analysis to deliver clear, concise, and visually appealing management metrics and reports to inform decision making and actions.
- Writing queries, views, and stored procedures in a team development environment that meets coding standards and quality assurance.
- Business process analysis and problem solving.
- Completing detailed work with a high degree of accuracy.
- Planning, organizing, and prioritizing work assignments to manage a high-volume workload in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Effective written and verbal communications, including explaining complex information to others in an understandable manner, and writing clear and precise policies, procedures, and training or other materials.
- Proven track record to work in a team environment and influence a diverse group of stakeholders.
Ability to:
