This position is a two-year term appointment with the possibility of extension contingent on continued funding.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field
- 3-5 years of experience managing a complex computing environment
- Knowledge of Linux environments and with system imaging and deployment tools
- Knowledge of computer networking including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN
- Familiarity with container technologies, preferably Docker
- Expertise with AWS infrastructure in a scalable multi-AZ production environment
- Highly organized and with great time management skills with an ability to work within a team
- Ability to follow directions and adhere to timelines
- Ability to mentor coworkers and work collaboratively
- Excellent communication skills to work with others across disciplines, locations, and cultures.
Server Management
- Creation of new servers to host BI software
- Managing of existing servers to ensure operation system patches are installed in a timely manner
- Monitor and tune the system for optimal performance
- Management of server networking
- Implement cost-effective and flexible solutions for expansion of services
- Create and maintain data backup solutions
- Provide troubleshooting and solutions to complex technical problems that arise when technologies are integrated.
- Create an maintain documentation of systems and procedures 40%
Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
- Research and recommend IaC platform
- Implement configuration and scripts
- Implement tools to facilitate use of IaC
- Maintain, update, and improve IaC documentation and SOPs 30%
Software Support
- Deploying new code when it is ready for production/QA
- Identifying and investigating issues as needed.
- Interface with BI coordinators and ARS breeders to understand data security needs 30%

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code platforms such as Terraform or Cloudformation

- Experience with management of software development infrastructure
