Description:
This team is a part of Caterpillar’s Digital Technology group. This team is responsible for all BI reporting for CAT Digital and is managing over 50 dashboards and will be acquiring additional dashboards at the end of this year. They are working with customers across the Caterpillar enterprise. Creation of business critical dashboards for multiple departments. Transformation of data needed for the dashboards. Ensuring proper security models for dashboards as these will contain sensitive, high priority data. CAT is looing for an entry level Tableau Developer. Ideal candidates have a degree in analytics, have held an internship, and have a true passion for visualization. **Portfolio with work samples required. Typical Day Development of new visualizations, Maintenance of existing dashboards etc., Validation of access, working with and communicating with project lead. Candidate will be expected to be on-site hybrid starting day one. In office a couple times a week. Candidates could sit in either Chicago or Peoria. Required: Industry standard Visualization Tools: 2+ years exp Tableau(required), Power BI (preferred) *high level visual communication skills Desired: Data transformation Tools: SQL language, Snowflake, SAS, Alteryx *Exp developing dashboards for large companies Responsibilities Gathers specifications from internal customers to understand requirements analyze data and provide valid report designs. Design, develop and testing SQL code in Snowflake Ensures report products are efficient and meet all regulatory and security requirements. Develops data extraction and output specifications for reports based on analysis of end user’s requirements. Identifies appropriate data sources for customer requests and ensures data integrity when pulling information into structured reports. Retrieves data from database utilizing SQL as required. Proactively identifies and address scalability and performance bottlenecks to support the database environment. Ensures quality of the reports prior to releasing to production. Develops and maintains documentation templates and standards for documentation of data extraction and output specifications, reports and other requirements. Develops queries, views, functions and stored procedures in SQL Server to support data requirements.
