What To Expect
Tesla’s Supplier Industrialization team is responsible for critical raw materials, component production and qualification activities at suppliers. This role will be responsible for building a Cloud database analysis system to automatically acquire and analyze suppliers’ production data, data visualization, and creating dashboard presentation for cross function team review. This work will help ensure a stable mass production and quality control of raw materials and issue alerts timely, which are key to the success of Tesla battery cell products. In this role, you will work closely with many organizations both internal and external to Tesla, taking the new battery designs through into full production.
The battery cell is a critical component in Tesla vehicles and storage systems. This role will have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to our products. The work environment is demanding, fast-paced and incredibly exciting. The ideal candidate should be ready to push their limits, as they join in highly motivated and capable team to make unbelievable things into reality.
What You’ll Do
- Independently design and develop Cloud database for acquiring and storing suppliers’ production data.
- Work with battery material suppliers for setting up proper data uploading method to Cloud server.
- Develop web-based dashboard for analyzing critical supplier production information.
- Provide support for current supplier capacity expansion and new supplier integration.
- Work in small or large cross-functional teams for the support of Tesla battery cell manufacturing.
- Collaborate with other team members to create sucure, reliable, scalable software solution.
- Actively seek ways to grow and be challenged using both formal and informal development channels; learns through successful and failed experiment when tackling new problems.
What You’ll Bring
- Master degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering or related majors.
- Experience in database design, REST API development
- Familiar with web design
- Familiar with data visualization, experience with web dashboard is a plus
- Experienced with MySQL or MongoDB
- Experience in developing OQC/IQC quality controls, metrology qualification for cell materials
- Must be well versed in statistical data analysis & process capability analysis
- Working knowledge of battery cell manufacturing requirements, cell performance requirements and corresponding relationship to material characteristics
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel – 10%-20%

Expected Compensation
$72,000 – $264,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
