What To Expect
The Data and Analytics, Applications Engineering team drives business critical decision making, and ensures cross functional alignment of goals and execution for all of Tesla. We stay focused on aligning the highest-level company priorities with strong day-to-day operations and build capabilities to power hyper-growth.
As the BI Administrator, you will partner with members of the Data and Analytics team and its leadership in Applications Engineering to provide critical reporting platform operations to support our demanding and fast-paced environment where you will work on critical subsystems of an incredibly exciting product What You’ll Do
- Will be responsible for supporting, administering and analyzing our Enterprise Analytics Platform environments built in PowerBI as primary following Tableau, Superset, including design, capacity planning, cluster setup, performance tuning and ongoing monitoring of operations.
- Designing, building, installing, configuring, supporting, and maintaining high-volume, large analytic platform environments.
- Designing and Implementing systems, policies and procedures for backups/disaster recovery and Business continuity configurations.
- Design and develop workbooks and dashboards across multiple platforms
- Work across all phases of SDLC from requirements analysis, design, coding, testing and delivery of products.
- Use knowledge and expertise of existing database and analytics environments to make recommendations for opportunities to share data and/or reduce data redundancies.
- Work with Operations to manage platform hardware infrastructure.
- Identify and manage metadata and data modeling quality control procedures provide facilitation and data analysis support to various data governance working groups.
- On-call support, where needed.
What You’ll Bring
- 3+ years’ experience in PowerBI
- Tableau and/or Superset Administration is nice to have
- Strong proficiency in SQL and query writing is required
- Technologies and strong capabilities in: Python and PowerShell
- Track record of excellence in current and prior roles
- Experience working with large, complex, and incomplete data sets
- 2+ years in cross-functional project management experience
- Strong quantitative/analytical skillset
- Superior business judgement – ability to flex between big picture thinking, understand and distill complex ideas, and analyze data to drive strategic objectives
- Problem solver that is action-oriented with the ability to look at problems in new ways
- Trustworthy and discreet with extremely sensitive non-public information
- Passion for Tesla’s products and belief in Tesla’s mission to accelerate the transition to sustainable energy
- Strong communicational skills, organizational skills, negotiation skills, and flexibility to address competing demands.

Nice To Have
- Knowledge of Airflow, Kafka, Tableau, Supserset, Big Data platforms
- Experience working with a system at scale and with Docker/Kubernetes/Jenkins CI/CD pipeline.
- Data warehousing experience
- Experience in project management, Jira
- Capable of leading a technical team
