Job Description
The Data Scientist I extracts, analyzes, identifies and assesses qualitative or quantitative patterns, trends, and other relationships from large amounts of data.
Essential Functions
- Employee will demonstrate TSTC Core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service and Integrity with internal and external stakeholders, customers, students and members of the community.
- Interprets data, analyzes results using statistical techniques and provides ongoing reports.
- Develops and implements data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality.
- Acquires data from primary or secondary data sources and maintains databases/data systems.
- Identifies, analyzes, and interprets trends or patterns in complex data sets.
- Filters and cleans data, and reviews computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and corrects code problems.
- Works closely with management to prioritize business and information needs. .
- Locates and defines new process improvement opportunities.
- Meets independently with all levels of personnel in order to complete assigned projects and task.
- Independently manages projects, acts as project manager for various assigned projects.
- Represent all areas of the division at a leadership level when required.
- Provide professional support to the Head of Business Intelligence.
