Machine Learning Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:
Machine Learning Operations Engineers facilitate data science initiatives by deploying, monitoring, and optimizing production ready machine learning models in a DevOps environment. The ML Ops Engineer will work to ensure a fast, reliable, and reproducible data platform that provides a positive impact to our business.
Delight our customers by applying knowledge in the Customer Service Innovation team. Candidate will apply computer science methods to implement predictive maintenance pipelines based primarily on aircraft sensor data.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Gain core business understanding of Textron Aviation and aircraft design, operation, and support
- Query, clean, transform, and stage data (ETL/ELT) in a cloud computing environment
- Support data science activities by implementing, maintaining, and optimizing production ready, automated AI and machine learning workflows
- Support business capable end user solutions (callable APIs) to interface with ML Models
- Ensure collaboration and data model interchangeability between ML frameworks
- Install and update software to ensure pipeline continuity
- Administer a CI/CD compliant code repository during development and update activities
- Research and develop methods to leverage aircraft sensor data, service, parts, and customer data for predictive purposes
- Develop visualizations for statistical models
- Interface with other data professionals throughout the organization to embrace cross functional growth in analytics capabilities
- Work to improve data quality by assisting data governance efforts in creating and maintaining data quality standards
- Plan and execute projects according to established milestones and schedules
- Prepare project/program briefings to management and customers
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science/Analytics, MIS, or other related technical field
- Minimum 2 years relevant technical experience required, focused on data collection, utilization, and analysis.
- Aviation experience preferred
QUALIFICATONS:
- Excellent oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills
- Strong programming skills in SQL and Python (other OOP languages also preferred)
- Ability to create and schedule data pipelines (i.e. Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory, MLFLow, etc)
- Experience with cloud data lake/warehouse tech (i.e. Azure, Databricks, AWS, Snowflake, etc)
- Experience with Python based ML libraries such as Scikit-Learn, Pandas, Numpy, Keras/Tensorflow, Pytorch, etc.is preferred
- Experience with container-based software delivery through technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with machine learning and deep learning concepts
- Familiarity with big data parallel processing frameworks such as Apache Hadoop, Spark, Dask, is preferred
- Linux and Windows OS experience including the command line
- Comfortable with CI/CD processes in Github, Azure DevOps, etc.
- Familiar with software development lifecycle, including waterfall, agile, DevOps, and DevSecOps methodologies
- Action oriented and seizes opportunities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Quickly grasps new concepts when faced with unfamiliar tasks
- Professional and diplomatic demeanor
