Data Engineers work collaboratively with business and technology partners to establish and maintain the enterprise data architecture, data migration efforts. You will be responsible for building and operating the latest cloud based data technologies from data ingestion to consumption. As part of a team, you help to successfully deploy large scale data solutions in the enterprise, using modern cloud based technologies.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

START AND END DATES FOR THIS INTERNSHIP ARE DURING SUMMER 2023 (3 months)

  • Build pipelines and processes for cleaning and organizing data as well as build tools to help make the data accessible by data scientists.
  • Communicate with internal and external clients to understand business needs and provide technical solutions.
  • Create and present materials on data projects, cloud architecture and system performance strategies.
  • Use big data analytics tools and apply techniques for data retrieval, preparation and modeling.
  • Mine data from and build integrations with cloud databases
  • Collaborate with data engineers and systems architect to implement analytical solutions.
  • Create analytical dashboards for troubleshooting and performance analysis.
  • Build capabilities with software tools (e.g. Google Cloud Platform)
  • Work in an Agile, collaborative environment, partnering with other scientists, engineers, and database administrators of all backgrounds and disciplines to bring analytical rigor and statistical methods to the challenges of predicting behaviors.

Who You Are:

  • You have a curiosity about transforming data and migrating data.
  • Passion for creating scripts to move data and a prowess for data manipulation.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and the flexibility to change direction as additional information becomes available.
  • Currently enrolled in Business Analytics, Mathematics, Economics, Physics, Computer Science, or Engineering

Required Professional and Technical Expertise

  • Training or relevant coursework in data science, computer science, cloud computing.
  • Must have experience coding in R and/or Python.

Preferred Professional And Technical Expertise

  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and perform data Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) and data pre-processing
  • Experience collaborating on coding projects in Google Cloud Platform
  • Design, develop, and test cloud solutions using tools including Data Lakes, Data Cubes, and Data Warehouses
