At The Coca-Cola Company, we are a global business that operates on a local scale, in every community where we do business. The Procurement Analyst supports Strategic Ingredient Supply (โ€œSISโ€) operations by collecting, analyzing, reporting, and managing data to provide key insights for actionable improvements to the department. The position will also provide support to the Director, SIS Procurement Information on existing and future data management tools. This position will process, extract, query, and organize data to help make procurement decisions. This person will also run optimization software which will require database management experience (e.g., SQL) to provide multi-variable solutions based upon the sourcing teamโ€™s constraints.


Key Duties/Responsibilities May Include:

  • Gather and analyze procurement data using data collection techniques for a variety of uses such as key metrics reporting to Senior Management, developing the annual business plan, identifying supply chain inefficiencies, strategy development, supplier evaluation, and negotiation. Develop new reports/tools to provide supply chain insights.

  • The position requires a deep understanding of quantitative analysis and the proper handling and interpretation of data coming from multiple sources. Responsible for populating and maintaining complex databases to provide fact-based information for multiple procurement categories.

  • Responsible for cleansing data provided from multiple sources and ensuring data accuracy.

  • Ability to extract, analyze and link system data (SAP, Access, Excel, Cloud) to data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI and Tableau).

  • Synthesize data and identify problems through operational and financial analysis to improve performance. Ability to create cost models.

  • Review ingredient inventory, demand forecasts, historical orders, and use software tools to provide intelligence for the SIS team to best manage short-term changing ingredient demand of the plants. Provide long-term global supply/demand analysis (e.g., capacity planning) to ensure business continuity.

  • The position will be expected to communicate/collaborate successfully with internal stakeholders and may also interact with external suppliers and 3rd parties (e.g., consultants, industry organizations). Work will be done individually and in teams and some project leadership will be required.

  • Develop techniques to improve the collection, verification, and use of our data. New processes and tools will be documented in a training site and shared.

  • Develop knowledge of our competitors’ products, services, and procurement activities. Collect and provide competitive intelligence information to the SIS team and promote sharing across appropriate organizations.

  • Provide fact-based insights and analysis of suppliers of ingredients procured by SIS

  • Protect the Company and all Company information against unauthorized disclosure, eavesdropping and legal exposure. Protect information provided to us from outside sources.


Required Skills:

  • Experience with Tableau and/or Power BI

  • Experience with SAP

  • Excellent to Expert Excel, including pivot tables, charts, and complex macros

  • Comfortable with handling large quantities of data from multiple sources: Ability to clean data, merge databases, manipulate data

  • Attention to detail

  • Understanding of relational databases

  • Programming experience (VBA, DAX , Python, R)

  • Excellent communications skills

Preferred Technical Skills:

  • Company Operations and Economics: Knowledge of the system, business, functions, operational and/or financial processes necessary to effectively perform internal Company analyses and/or transactions

  • Customer Focus: Making customers (external and internal) needs a primary focus of one’s actions; developing and sustaining productive customer relationships; creating and executing plans and solutions in collaboration with the customer

  • Data Extraction: Ability to extract and query data from systems (e.g., SAP, Picasso, Billing and Promotions, Nielsen, Compass, PLUS, OPS, Messenger)

  • Data Validation: Knowledge of and ability to understand and resolve data inconsistencies or variances

  • Knowledge of optimization tools and basic understanding of constraint development (preferably linear programming).

  • Monitoring, Measurement and Metrics: Knowledge of key business drivers or measures used to gauge the effectiveness and performance of an internal group or a supplier; Ability to determine appropriate measures or metrics; Ability to measure against those standards; Ability to communicate performance standards and metrics

  • Requirements Planning: Knowledge of how to plan materials and service requirements to support ongoing business

  • Software Applications: Knowledge and use of technical software applications appropriate to the specific work activities (e.g., SAP, SQL, MRP, etc.)

  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of SAP systems; strong skills in Tableau, Power BI, Excel, Access and SQL and other querying tools.

  • Understanding of using intermediate macro development / VBA capabilities and RAD using Visual Studio


Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree required

  • Bachelors/Masterโ€™s Degree in a quantitative or engineering discipline such as Operations Management, Decision Sciences, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or Logistics is highly preferred.


Related Experience/Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of data analytics, data management and/or financial analysis, procurement, supply chain, logistics or operational experience
