Position:- Business Analytics/Analyst Lead
Location:- Hybrid Itasca, IL (3 days onsite at Itasca and 2 days remote)
Type:- Full time
Job Duties (Specific tasks, assignments, or functions performed)
1. Provide strategic and tactical guidance to Business Intelligence solutions within the global organization based off interviews and requirements gathered from the end user.
2. Build and manage reports, cubes, and dashboards to address global requirements.
3. Analysis and improve automation of business process through the continuous improvement process.
4. Architect the solutions for the business need and arranging training for existing, new functionalities
5. As a proactive thought leader expected to stay up to date on Business Intelligence functionality and advancements and make recommendations regarding improvements to processes and procedures. This would include gaining an expert understanding of tools like Oracle FAW, Tableau, IBM Cognos and or Microsoft Power BI.
6. Plan and execute the road map for any Business Analytics tool including include upgrade path, support knowledge, and solution development.
7. Educate, mentor, and oversee Business Analytics projects and reports done by all global users.
8. Work with the business data steward to provide a road map for how BA can help improve and facility their business.
9. Work to help leadership understand the importance of BA through training, meeting and prototype.
10. Assist leadership with developing KPI’s and SLA’s by using new and existing data sets.
11. Engage and foster relationships with key business data stewards and leadership to build a global brand of Business Analytics and “one version of the truth”
Job Requirements (Knowledge and skills required to perform the job)
1. 7+ years of relevant experience in leading analytical and reporting software packages implementation and support
2. Strong working knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL in multiple types of databases
3. Good written and oral communication skills
4. Able to translate nontechnical discussions into technical documents
5. Strong analytical and program solving skills are required to interpret data and draw conclusions
6. Able to use Explain Plans to tune SQL
7. Able to incorporate multiple data sources into a single report
8. Experience with drill down, prompts, and dashboards is important
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in technology, MIS, or CS. Minimum Experience:
• 5-7 years of writing complex SQL queries
• 5-7 years of understanding Databases (Oracle, SQL Server) and strong working knowledge of Kimball Methodology for data warehouse
• 5-7 years implementing enterprise scale reporting using Business Analytics
• 5-7 Years of Report solution development
Must have
Oracle FWA OR Tableau OR IBM Cognos experience.
