Position Overview
Efficient operations is essential in the ability of Davey Resource Group, Inc. (DRG) to perform work for our clients. It is critical that operations managers can see and analyze financial information to hep the make better business decisions. The Junior Business Analyst will be integral to tracking key metrics, reporting on those metrics, and working closely with operations teams to perform root cause analysis issues that arise. A strong work relationship with a high level of trust across the organization will be critical to success in this role. This role is highly interactive in a team environment and a high level of energy and positive attitude will be important to the position.
Job Duties
- Manage and build on our current cost tracking to provide better clarity and transparency to revenue and cost forecasting.
- Manage material invoice tracking and inventory reporting
- Manage material purchasing and material purchasing records
- Assist with budget vs. actual financial comparisons and be able to dissect variances
- Identify and address anomalous spending by employees using company fuel and lodging accounts
- Understanding, and improving where necessary, our current financial tools
- Assist in annual financial planning process for operations teams
- Gain a strong understanding of SAP reporting
- Identify areas of inconsistent processes and improve on those areas
- Assist as we transition to SAP S4 Hana
- Manage timesheet system and provide reporting for operations managers
- Month-end invoicing and WIP reconciliation
- Metrics tracking and reporting
- Assist in Quarterly WIP/Revenue Audits
Qualifications
- Four Year Degree preferred, but relevant experience considered
- Advanced knowledge of Excel formulas and spreadsheets preferred
- Background in operations and administrative support, accounting, bookkeeping, and/or financials
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Must have a high sense of urgency on completing projects
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced work environment and handle high-stress situations
- Demonstrated high level of professionalism including the ability to be flexible with others, display tact, diplomacy, and discretion and maintain the integrity of confidential and sensitive information.
- Proactive and confident to work independently while maintaining strong teamwork skills
