The Digital Finance (DF) team is part of the Corporate Controller Team (CCT) and is comprised of integrated competency centers that help drive value realization. DF helps finance leaders transform the finance function by moving away from traditional, highly manual transactional processes in a backward-looking function to a predictive and proactive mindset powered by intelligent insights and automation. DF serves as the digital hub for the CCT and works cross-functionally with business partners in Finance and throughout Home Depot to support the company’s strategic objectives.

The Senior Data Analyst for Business Intelligence will work directly with the Manager of Digital Finance as an essential part of the team in developing data visualizations and dashboards to support a variety of business functions leveraging BI tools such as Tableau, Google Data Studio, and Looker.

The role will be responsible for the conceptualization, development, and implementation of dashboards. They will continually assess the performance of reports to identify and correct problems, which impact operational efficiency and work quality.


Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:

  • Establish reporting standards and best practices.
  • Architect and implement a reporting framework.
  • Oversee data mining efforts.
  • Develop programs, methodologies, and files for analyzing and presenting data.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, developers, UX designers and end-users to determine requirements.
  • Data analysis, development of SQL scripts, stored procedures & triggers, and report generation.
  • Develop programs, methodologies, and files for analyzing and presenting data
  • Data Cleansing/validation
  • Prepare data load scripts for mass data load from various data sources

Nature and Scope:
Position Reports to Sr. Engineer or Sr. Manager

Environment:
1. Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Travel:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Standard Minimum Qualifications:

Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience extracting/cleansing data and generating insights from large transactional data sets
  • Experience with Tableau, Google Cloud (Google Cloud Storage, BigQuery)
  • Proficient in SQL
  • Well-versed with Data and Analytics projects
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with key business partners and stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate and synthesize technical and business information to technical and non-technical individual stakeholders
  • Good documentation and knowledge transfer practices
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting capabilities
  • Experience in Python a plus
