About the Role
The Sr Analyst, BI will be a dedicated resource to VFโ€™s The North Face brand, working closely with stakeholders and peers to meet the business analytical initiatives. The successful candidate will be a global catalyst for amplifying analytics capabilities that spark efficiency, drive business decisions, and foster innovation and growth for The North Face. In this capacity, storytelling and communication skills are important to provide guidance and recommendations to peers and business functions. This will entail effectively translating business requirements into plans and actionable items.
A strong understanding of BI tools, such as Tableau, Alteryx, and/or Google Data Studio / Big Query, with emphasis on the ability to design intuitive and insightful visualizations is a must. Advanced understanding of data warehouses, such as Amazon Redshift, as well as data virtualization is a plus. Experience with SQL is required
Key Accountabilities:
  • Establish, socialize, and execute the data strategy based on key areas – people, processes, data, and technology. align strategy, resources, project plans, and goals to business objectives
  • Work cross-functionally with brand stakeholders and data lake development team to identify, analyze, and design core data models to support self-service reporting and analytics
  • Creatively explore how data can continually add value to The North Face decision-making. Translate ad hoc questions into flexible tools & methodologies that scale to answer broad problems across the organization.
  • Generate insights and recommendations, across business functions, to support strategic decision and inform product development
  • Apply strong storytelling acumen to develop and design presentations, reports, data visualizations and other deliverables. Summarize findings to key stakeholders and executive leadership, communicating with both technical and non-technical team members
  • Embed yourself in the development lifecycle for new & existing analytics packages by creating ideas through collaboration with peers, building initial data prototypes, supporting data development, deploying visualizations for production systems and participate in the update and improvement over time.
  • Evangelize the evolution of business reporting into decision intelligence, leveraging data science, modeling, and AI into data products that automate or aid in scalable decisioning. Support and advocate creation of long-term sustainable products focusing always on scalability and repeatability across brands and regions.
  • Establish and maintain principles, role definitions, responsibilities, standards, procedures, and accountability for data development practices, reporting and visualization
  • Expand technical skillset to promote both code-based and non-code-based tools to create reporting data models efficiently and effectively
  • Manage reporting and visualization projects involving timelines, vendor relationships, and budgets to ensure projects are delivered with the highest quality and within specified timeframes
  • Develop and maintain consultative and collaborative relationships with key business stakeholders to proactively identify and address business intelligence needs
  • Establish, centralize, embrace, and champion common design practices for data visualization. Drive standards and KPIโ€™s for reporting and data visualizations within The North Face while simultaneously supporting efforts to drive consistency, standardization, scalability and simplicity across VFโ€™s brands, functions, and regions
Required Knowledge, Capabilities and Experience:
  • Years of Related Professional Experience: 5-7 years
  • A formal education and subsequent undergraduate/graduate degrees are nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.
  • Advanced understanding of data modeling for reporting and analytics functions with good understanding of web analytics data like Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics
  • Experience with multiple systems in any of the following areas including; AWS (S3, Redshift), Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau, SQL Server, MySQL, SAS, SPSS, ThoughtSpot, Cognos, Datorama, Domo, Denodo, and other related products
  • Demonstrated understanding of retail, wholesale, CPG, or footwear and apparel industry business processes and how data is used within them, with awareness of industry processes and data sets including Demand, Inventory and Supply Planning, Financial Analysis and Forecasting, Product Data, Point of Sale (POS) Data, Buy Planning, Marketing Campaign Management, Social Media Data โ€“ Facebook Business Manager, Google Analytics, Big Query, Google Ads, Consumer Data such as Experian Mosaic
  • Design-oriented thinking focused on end-users – experience making a variety of static and interactive visualizations for a variety of audiences. Awareness of design concepts related to chart forms, typography, and the use of color. Ability to design visualizations that are intuitive to navigate, responsive, and informative.
  • Experience with multiple technology service delivery models and methodologies (Agile, waterfall, DevOps)
  • Strong project management skills

Salary Range:

$84,000.00 USD – $126,000.00 USD annually

Annual Incentive Eligibility:
