Job Summary:

To collect, evaluate, and prepare research and/or other complex statistical data for a specific department of the institution. To prepare statistical and narrative reports, make recommendations, and participate in the analysis and interpretation of data as appropriate. To develop, maintain, and ensure quality control of databases.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Healthcare related field and one (1) year of related healthcare experience or equivalent combination of education/experience.

Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required: NA

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of statistical concepts and data collection instruments. Knowledge of research methodology, principles, and procedures. Verbal and written communication skills. Skill in the use of personal computers and statistical software applications. Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports. Ability to design and administer complex statistical databases.

Responsibilities

• Develops data collection instruments; develops and utilizes instruments and methods for the evaluation and quality control of data.
• Collects data and produces statistical and analytical reports; assists in the analysis and interpretation of data.
• Designs, and/or develops specific databases for the collection, tracking, and reporting of data.
• Manages network requirements, hardware and software needs, and troubleshoots system problems.
• Provides a variety of professional, fiscal, and administrative services to the department.
• Conducts training in proper methods of collection and the use of databases.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical and Environmental Demands

Requires occasional exposure to bio-hazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations, occasional travelling to offsite locations, constant work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality, occasional bending, occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, occasional climbing, occasional crouching/stooping, occasional kneeling, frequent reaching, frequent sitting, occasional standing, occasional twisting, and frequent walking.
