The Role
Thornton Tomasetti is seeking a Financial Analyst to contribute to global business decisions in a professional services environment. You will be a key part of the team supplying key metrics and analyses to leadership. The goal of the role will be to enable clear business decisions based on sound information delivered clearly and effectively. You will need to be highly motivated and have demonstrated experience in analyzing complex business situations. You will work in a collaborative environment as you support, build, and maintain financial models while communicating findings in a crisp, concise manner. The position will have exposure to business partners from multiple areas of the organization.
The role will require you to be highly motivated and have demonstrated experience managing complex business data into insightful outputs. This will include building and maintaining expense plans, contributing to new planning models, and communicating with peers and leadership in a concise manner.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and evolve weekly & monthly reports and analyses covering productivity, revenue, ongoing expenses, and related KPIs.
- Maintain and support forecasting mechanisms, including both technical maintenance and end-user support (note: end users are mainly middle management).
- Maintain monthly analyses of financial results.
- Support flexible financial models to answer queries and pressure-test hypotheses.
- Help improve FP&A processes by systematically assessing venues in place and leveraging incoming (new) enterprise systems, including but not limited to Power BI.
Requirements
- 2 to 5 years experience in Planning & Analysis for Professional Consulting organization(s).
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, with MBA or advanced credentials, preferred.
- Expertise in MS Office, including advanced Excel, database management, and Power BI.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently with peers and management alike.
- Strong project management, relationship building, and oral/written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated experience in external data sourcing both w/in and outside MS Office.
Compensation
The rate for this position generally is $80,000 – $100,000 annually. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York. Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by New York Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. A potential new employee’s pay history will not be used in compensation decisions.
