Note: This job is located in Denver, CO.
The Junior Data Analyst will work within our newly formed QR sub-department team, with focus on the conception of smart and innovative automated solutions to support the Sportsbook operations. The job entails financial modelling and the development of algorithmic trading strategies. This is done through the following:
- Assist the Quantitative Trading Analyst in the development and improvement of statistics, models and algorithms for: Automated trading models (both pre-match and live); Risk management tools; Customer profiling; Performance measurement & analysis in line with the departments’ strategic objectives
- Investigate market trends and observe competition to obtain valuable market insights
- Compile special odds for a variety of sporting events
- Assist other teams across the department with various odds-related tasks
- Assist in the creation and implementation of new sportsbook products
- Assist the Quantitative Trading Analyst in improving the department’s data accessibility
- Assist the Quantitative Trading Analyst in serving as a bridge between Business Intelligence, Data, and the Trading teams with the aim of improving data quality and analysis
- Calculation of ROI’s for proposed improvements to sports betting products and operations
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
- 1-3 years of relevant working experience
- Preferably gaming industry experience
- Strong mathematical and numerical skills
- Good communication, organizational, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
- Deep understanding of Statistics
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel
- Strong knowledge of Python
- Experience with R is considered an asset
- Knowledge of JIRA would be an advantage
- Fluent in English, verbal and written
Functional / Technical Competence
- Good general sports and betting knowledge
- Knowledge of the US sportsbetting market
- Data-driven decision making
- Competent in Excel and other Microsoft Office programs
