Job Description
We are hiring BI Developer who will be contributing to the designing, developing, and maintaining of Microsoft Business Intelligence (MSBI) solutions to achieve the BI & Analytics objectives and goals. A strong focus of the role is the use of BI & Analytics tools and software to develop innovative solutions, report and visualizations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DECISIONS/ LEVEL OF AUTHORITY
- Responsible for designing, coding and testing software applications to support BI & Analytics COE activities, and actively drive innovation and change across the solution development team to improve business performance
- Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting, craft and execute queries upon request from key business stakeholders, applying the application of appropriate development tools, set priorities for projects including equipment and resources to ensure timely delivery of agreed projects, and assist the Build Manager in reporting on the progress against schedule and budget.
- Assess and communicate risk in relation to solution delivery, identify relevant resources for the program of development including third parties where required to deliver project outcomes, monitor and challenge KPIs for vendor performance and identify gaps and areas of service improvement, follow the transition process for build into support from the COE, ensure appropriate governance and compliance in relation to software development activities, and ensure simplification and repeatability of BI & Analytics reporting tools
- Foster an innovative culture and approach across the BI & Analytics COE, apply the relevant security and risk management protocols as required, maintain solution documentation as appropriate, and follow the appropriate release management processes across the Toll IT Enterprise
- Ensure all development meets and exceeds business expectations by collaborating across the BI and Analytics community globally, collaborate with teams to integrate systems and provide any third level support in post-production as required.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- At least 3 to 5 or more years of relevant experience in application software development
- Must have experience in using SQL in report development with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), good to have experience in Power BI
- Deployment of applications in a SaaS / PaaS environment
- Experience in COBIT or ITIL best practice
- Experience with BI & Analytics presentation layer tools and products
- Bachelor’s in IT, computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline, and strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint presentation and Word skills
