The role:
We are looking for an experienced Data Services Engineer to join our team in Pune.
As the Data Services Engineer, you will:
- Create and test packages of data management, data movement, data storage and data analysis tools that will support future business unit development projects. Publish these packages and support BU Project teams in using them.
- Identifying data sources. Collecting data, Sourcing missing data. Organizing data into usable formats
- Analysing data to find answers to specific questions, Setting up data infrastructure
- Developing, implementing and maintaining databases. Assessing quality of data and removing or cleaning data
- Generating information and insights from data sets and identifying trends and patterns
- Preparing reports for executive and project teams.Creating visualisations of data
About you
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Microsoft Azure, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, Azure Blob Storage. Hands-on experience in Unix, Shell scripting, and Python.
- Experience in PowerBI (Good to have). Experience working in a data diverse and challenging environment
- Experience in working within an agile environment is desirable. Strong mathematical & numeracy skills. Intermediate understanding of databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, and SAP.
- Understanding of reporting & data visualization tools such as PowerBI. Understanding of website scripts such as XML, Javascript, and JSON.
- Understanding of ETL framework and ETL tools including Azure data factory. A strong understanding of the use of the Azure stack for data science and Python
- Excellent analytical skills – the ability to identify trends, patterns, and insights from data. Relevant tertiary qualification in an IT-related discipline
