Technical Business Analyst
Job Description
- We are hiring a business analyst to join our project team. You will work alongside other business stakeholders, and technical and domain teams and report directly to the project manager Tech lead.
- Your main tasks will include performing detailed requirements analysis, documenting processes, and performing some user acceptance testing. To succeed in this role you should have a natural analytical way of thinking and be able to explain difficult concepts to non-technical users.
Key Responsibilities
- Interface with clients and project stakeholders to gain an understanding of requirements
- Document the requirements, create flow charts, and present to clients for sign off
- Research and come up with solutions for client problems in coordination with SMEs.
- Propose designs in liaison with designers.
- Analyse, evaluate and estimate requirements and specifications in liaison with SMEs, and technical teams, Coordinate with QA, and provide a sign off for project scope
- Participate in project planning, execution, and tracking, deliver good case studies
- Work in collaboration with the development team to implement the solution
- As a business analyst work with Product owners and business stakeholders to elicit business requirements and the scope of the project
- Define and document functional and non-functional requirements/acceptance criteria as user stories on the agile board
- Work with Product Owner and Scrum Master/ Project managers to organize the product backlog by priority
- Ability to facilitate scrum ceremonies such as daily stand-up, sprint planning, grooming, and retrospective meetings in absence of the Product Owner or Scrum Master
- Collaborate with UX team and relevant business stakeholders for finalized mock-up/customer journey
- Work with architects and developers to understand the technology dependencies and document it
- Collaborate with Dev and QA team on project development and testing
Required Skills
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to work with business owners to define key business questions and to build data sets that answer those questions
- Excellent communication skills (written & verbal), very good negotiation and convincing skills; ability to explain approach, process, and insights to technical and non-technical teammates
- Strong leader who can prioritize well and communicate clearly across all levels of the organization with a proven ability to influence.
- Strong passion for technology and understanding of industry trends, Good understanding of SDLC.
- Minimum 2-3 years of prior experience in programming is an added advantage.
- Ability to create wireframes and design is an added advantage.
- Interpersonal and consultative skills along with analytical thinking and problem solving
- Requirements engineering & Processes modelling
- Understanding of API, networks, databases, mobile apps, and hybrid frameworks.
- Ability to independently multi-task and work well in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to quickly identify and analyze inconsistent results with little to no guidance
- Ability to write Acceptance Criteria in technical natural language suitable for test automation
- Experience with Jira, Rally, or another sprint tracking/ticketing system
- Critical thinking to determine the best outcome/resolution
