Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Business Analytics department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Business Analytics Senior Analyst.
The primary responsibility includes developing analyses and recommendations that drive sales strategy, finance, voluntary protection of product sales, operational improvements, and elevating dealer relationships with TFS. Partnering with the Sales organization and Data Science, this role will be spearheading analytical initiatives asked for by the business as well as ones created organically via data exploration.
Reporting to Sales Analytics Manager, the person in this role will support the Business Analytics department’s objectives and enable data-driven decision-making through consultative analytics, insight generation, and data storytelling. Responsibilities also include ad-hoc data and analysis requests as well as market research to guide sales and profit growth.
What you’ll be doing

Utilizing creative problem-solving and quantitative analytical skills to connect the dots and find the insight buried in the data.

Recommending actions based on your insights by effectively telling the story that is supported by data through presentations (PowerPoint), data visualizations (Tableau), and clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.

Utilize data-consuming skills (SQL, Python), data interpretation and analysis skills, and data storytelling skills (PowerPoint, Tableau/Looker, verbal, written) to enhance decision-making for business leaders.

Leverage business and industry knowledge to understand Toyota and Lexus dealers’ needs, and design analysis and sales reporting that resonate with their needs (i.e. translate the value TFS generates into terms that dealers care about: profitability, customer loyalty, service retention, etc.).

Work with the field, Sales Development, and Sales Admin teams to define the next phase of features in tools and analyses that will allow users to identify and illuminate sales issues and opportunities.

Provide various levels of Ad Hoc business and sales analysis for TFS/LFS and private labels.

Evaluate key company sales metrics and provide summarized results to senior management as well as DSSO/Regional management.

Take ownership of meaningful projects directly affecting the company’s bottom line and ability to grow its Market Share.
What you bring
-
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Analytics, or other relevant fields.

Demonstrated experience in data querying, analysis, programming, financial industry, or a related/relevant role or industry.

SQL proficiency (advanced).
-
Experience in Tableau/Tableau Prep, Looker, and Power BI.

VBA programming experience.

Strong creative and quantitative problem-solving skills.

Strong analytical skills (e.g. modeling, statistics, financial analysis, reporting, etc.) – open-ended (tell me about your experience in this area).

Strong verbal and written communication skills and proficiency to use data to tell a story while interacting and presenting to senior leadership including sales professionals.

Intellectual curiosity – always making an effort to understand and find the truth (open-ended/provide an example of this).

Ability and willingness to travel up to 10%.
Added bonus if you have

MBA in Finance, Economics, Strategy, or related field.

R and Python programming experience.
