Headquarters being in Sweden, we are a manufacturing company with about 24,000 employees worldwide and is currently looking for a Data Scientist for the Bangalore Location.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
- Mine and analyze data from company databases and data streams to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques and business strategies.
- Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
- Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
- Use predictive modelling to increase and optimize engineering, manufacturing, customer experience, revenue generation, ad targeting and other business outcomes.
- Align, promote and constantly update the data science tools and technology stack with relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate with different functional teams in IS&P, TSS, and Trelleborg Group to implement models and monitor outcomes.
- Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
Profile:
- High level of intellect, enrolled in a master program in computer science, business engineering, mathematics or similar degree, Ph.D. degree is a big plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on engineering and manufacturing, data science experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
- Experience using the programming language Python to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets
- Experience working with and creating data architectures and operationalizing predictive models
- A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques
- Comfort working in a dynamic, research-oriented group with several ongoing concurrent projects
- Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, artificial neural networks, etc.) as well as mathematical optimization and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
- Advanced Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.
- Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau) and data frameworks (e.g., Hadoop)
- Experience in understanding and optimizing AI/ML services in Cloud ecosystems, preferable MS Azure
- Good software development skills and basic knowledge of good software development patterns, including software testing
- Experience with software code repositories and CD/CI systems, such as GIT, Azure or Bitbucket
- Excellent collaboration skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams.
- Ability to work independently on sub-projects, ability to delegate tasks to support functions (e.g., data engineers)
- Takes responsibility for team activities that stretch beyond own functional area and ensure participation of others who are affected by plans or actions
- Present oneself clearly and articulately when speaking with or presenting to engineers and senior management
- Fluent in English, additional language skills are an advantage
- Ability to travel internationally as required by the Business (up to 50%)
