The Profit Improvement Analyst reports to the Vice President of Profit Improvement, and is located in Columbus, OH.

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Working across TriMark’s industry leading food equipment, distribution and restaurant design business, the Analyst will support TriMark’s continued profitable growth by conducting analyses of category and customer profitability and translating these analyses into actions for TriMark sales and project teams.
  • Analyst will support the development of profitability data sets on an ongoing basis and will be responsible for sense checking and scrubbing data for accuracy. Analyst will develop the starting fact base for divisions, highlighting key trends or opportunities and developing hypotheses for how to improve profitability.
  • Analyst will support profitability initiatives with pricing analysis, financial analysis, distribution / account deep-dives and category reviews.
  • Analyst will support the divisional sales leadership with ongoing project management and tracking of actions identified through the work.
  • Analyst will be accountable for achieving annual incremental EBITDA targets through implementation of the program and identifying areas for continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage data input and output using home-grown business profitability tools
  • Manage reporting relating to customer profitability and margin targets
  • Provide management reports and presentations to illustrate division, segment, customer, category, project and item profitability
  • Provide recommendations and hypotheses on actions to improve profitability based on these reports
  • Subject matter expert in the use of business profitability tools and processes for the divisional sales management team
  • Facilitate and manage ongoing account review process and action tracking – provide updates for overall profitability impacts
  • Audit applications and processes to ensure data integrity
  • Develop and maintain reports that support profitability analysis and tracking
  • Work with IT Liaisons to define data requirements for corporate-wide reporting systems
  • Perform ad hoc projects, analyses and data extractions as assigned

COMPETENCIES:

  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel a must
  • Excellent analytical skills and understanding of corporate financial data
  • Bias for action, problem solving skills
  • Must be well organized, detail oriented and able to prioritize tasks to serve internal stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau and/or Alteryx a plus
  • Presentation skills / experience a plus

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree required / MBA preferred
  • 3 – 5 years related experience
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check

The range provided represents the national average pay range for this position and is considered to be a general guideline. Pay for this position will reflect the candidate’s unique qualifications and may be higher or lower than the range provided based on employee geographic location. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other local, state, and federal law.

In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in TriMark’s’ benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401K (with employer match), etc. Leadership positions may also qualify for participation in bonus programs commensurate with role and scope of responsibility.
