Job Summary
The Machine Learning (ML) Intern will gain experience in using programing, statistics, and experimental methodologies to build pipelines for data science and machine learning applications. Additionally, exposure to real-world data (from various biomedical devices) and the associated difficulties of working with such data will be provided through their internship.
Sample projects include the development of a data pre-processing pipeline using X-Ray projection images and/or device signal data; generalization of tensorflow models to accept arrays of varied sizes; and creation of production pipeline modules for displaying image and statistical results. In addition, research into options for GPU and cloud scalability should be considered for each sample project.
The successful internship will conclude with the intern having learned the ML development lifecycle through implementation of several example projects and creation of a generalized framework that may be utilized for implementation of ML projects in the future.
Responsibilities
Some of the things you’ll be doing include…
- Researching, designing, and creating a development framework for standardization of machine learning projects using current and past projects as guides.
- Understanding and working on model scalability from local development to server/cloud implementation.
- Working with varied real-world datasets, including X-Ray projection images, device signal data, and business-related data.
Education, Experience, And Skills
- Undergrad (Senior) or Masters in Computer Science, Engineering, or Economics with a GPA of 3.5 and above.
- Relevant course and lab work should include R/Python Programming, Modular Programming, Bash Scripting, Integration of Local and Cloud Computing
- Ability to research and document software design
- Excellent communication skills
The hourly range for jobs which are performed in US, California is $20.00 to $35.00. Please note that the salary range is a guideline and compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, experience, competencies and work location.
