This role sits in the Enterprise Technology Data Office representing the Business Intelligence Center for Enablement. Accountable for maximizing ROI on Enterprise Business Intelligence platforms through community engagement, consulting, POCโs, UI/UX design and other best practices. To be successful in this role, you must carry a passion for BI platforms and be proficient in at least one of Truistโs core BI platforms.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
1. Performs feature; functionality demos to small and large audiences designed to promote adoption of core BI platforms.
2. Enables BI platform consumers by leading consultation sessions designed to address specific use cases, meaningful to business stakeholders (includes developer guidance and best practices)
3. Stays abreast of industry trends and best practices as they relate to Truistโs core BI platforms
4. Efficiently creates test data sets in execution of BI POCโs using a variety of tools, such as text editors, DBMS, data prep platforms, etc.
5. Creates and executes test plans in support of BI POCโs involving the implementation of new tools and technologies
6. Leads UX and UI consults through data visualization guidance, user story and wireframe creation, dashboard re-design, and theme and template application
7. Possesses knowledge of dimensional modeling with the ability to create, interpret, and analyze BI datasets and data models
8. Ability to troubleshoot and provide performance tuning recommendations on BI applications within the BI Center for Enablement footprint.
9. Articulates and promotes the advancement of business teams through progressive phases of BI maturity.
10. Builds dashboards and reports designed to socialize the BI Center for Enablementโs current, pending, and future accomplishments.
11. Develops usage rate dashboards that can be easily transferrable to and used by individual business units
12. Adds perspective and guidance in the evaluation of net new tools and technologies
13. Partners with Engagement team to create technical documentation and facilitates platform โDoctors Hoursโ and business unit engagement meetings
14. Partners with Platform Architects on tool policy documentation, license management, workaround solutions, upgrade testing, and escalated platform support
15. Creates community newsletter content and Marketing materials, and contributes to quarterly publication
16. Develops methods to measure, track, and increase BI adoption and utilization rates
17. Leads small to medium projects with manageable risks and resource requirements with minimal supervision
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree and five years of experience in systems engineering or administration or equivalent education and related training or experience
2. In-depth knowledge of Linux, Unix, Windows Shell Programming, Python, Git, Networking, Storage Systems (HDFS, GPFS)
3. Previous experience in planning and managing IT projects
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree and six years of experience or equivalent education and related training or experience
2. Banking or financial services experience.
3. 4 to 7 yearsโ experience developing dashboards, reports, data models, and BI semantic layer architecture in MicroStrategy, Tableau, Power BI, etc.
4. Ability to write advanced SQL queries, stored procedures, SAS scripts, etc. in support of BI deployments and POCโs
5. Understanding how underlying BI service architecture consumes โcomputeโ infrastructure with the ability to associate semantic layer functionality to resource utilization.
5. Experience as a Platform Architect supporting BI infrastructure layers including service configuration, data integrations, job plans, license; user management, etc.
6. Self-starter with strong analytical, troubleshooting, presentation, verbal and written communication skills
