Job Location: Pune
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with the business teams to understand their data requirements and creating mock-ups for the business to sign-off on.
- Understand their business processes leveraging the reports/dashboards and enhancements being requested.
- Understanding the Data Movement between Source and Target applications and perform the data quality checks to maintain the data accuracy and consistency
- Groom the requests submitted by the business teams to ensure it has all the requirements clearly defined for the Development team to work on.
- Create and maintain all requirements and other information in an organized format on the company confluence pages.
- Create test data in the source systems on an as needed basis to help validate the accuracy of the data being exposed to the business users.
- Work directly with developers to resolve the issues / defects
- Understand functional specifications to perform thorough testing of deliverables.
- Develop, Document and Maintain functional test cases and other test artifacts like test data, data validation and automated scripts.
- Effectively report bugs / issues with clear and crisp communication of observations and findings to development teams in JIRA or other reporting tools.
- Consistently execute test cases (manual and/or automated) and analyse & report results in a timely manner.
- Identify points of failure within and outside the scope of reported bugs / issues, yet relevant to the specific reports.
- Retest any fixes or corrections implemented by the Dev team to ensure the problems are resolved, ensuring implementation of resolutions or workarounds for defects performing regression and integration testing prior to releases.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English
- Ability to Understand the Physical and Logical Data Models
- Aptitude for defining clear and concise requirements and data validation criteria for Development team.
- Hands on experience with JIRA or any other tool used for bug tracking, issue tracking, and project management etc.
- Hands on experience with validating accuracy of data in the Reports and Dashboards across multiple business functions by comparing the same with data bases and source applications.
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel with advanced and complex formulas required for data comparison and analysis
- Ability to write moderately complex SQL queries (including table joins, nested queries, etc.) to pull/fetch data from systems/DWH
- Possessing the following skills will be an added advantage
- Excel Macros (VB)
- MS Access
- Understanding of data warehouse, data models, database design concepts.
- Knowledge of creating custom reports in Reporting tools like Business Objects and Power BI.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize work with tight schedules and target dates.
Required Qualification and Experience:
- Strong experience in working with clients to fulfil their data / reporting needs.
- Good experience with MS SQL
- 2+ year experience working with Business Objects, Power BI, etc..
- Excellent Microsoft Office experience, especially MS Office
- Any graduate degree in a related technical or functional field
