Your role
Do you have a keen interest and expertise in data profiling, data mining and process automation? Are you willing to work in a tier 1 financial institution? We are looking for someone like you who can collect and interpret data, analyse results, report the results, identify patterns and trends in data sets.
Your role is to:
- gather information from various sources and interpret patterns – analytical skills required
- interpret data and turn it into information which can offer ways to remediate a data quality issue for Financial Risk (mainly Credit Risk)
- Once data has been gathered and interpreted, report back what has been found in a comprehensive way to the wider business/relevant colleagues
- efficiently coordinate with various stakeholders to understand the complex data flow end-to-end to identify drivers for errors, perform root cause analysis
- design and implement robust automated approaches to periodically assess data quality
- make recommendations about the methods and ways in which we obtain and analyze data to improve quality and the efficiency of data collection and analysis processes
Your team
You’ll be working in the Risk Data Management and Control team within the Group Risk Control function in Mumbai. The team is global with members in Switzerland, UK, US and India and its primary responsibility is to identify and control the impact of operational risk on the firm’s usage of data to manage its exposures to credit, market, funding, liquidity and other risks.
We are looking for a passionate Data Analyst who will turn data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions (such as issue prioritization or risk acceptance)
Your expertise
You have :
- a degree in Business Management / Mathematics / Computer Science / Data Science / Statistics / Economics and 4-5 years of relevant work experience
- some experience in: (i) working with complex databases, data extraction and data mining, (ii) coding in VBA / Excel, Python, Alteryx, SQL or equivalents
- ability to quickly understand complex processes and challenge the status quo, identify risks and inadequacies in procedures, as well as propose practical and sustainable solutions
- ability to clearly communicate expectations to team members and stakeholders
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- An analytical mind and inclination for problem-solving, an attention to detail
You are :
- proactive and able to work effectively with a team and independently
- intellectually curious and able to train yourself on various techniques and tools
- able to multi-task, handle multiple requests simultaneously and communicate deadlines effectively, knowing when to escalate
- good in presentation skills, comfortable in interacting with colleagues at all levels
- thorough and rigorous in executing your task without losing track of what’s important
