We are looking for a Data Engineering Manager to:
- help shape the direction and delivery of a key strategic undertaking, supporting cross divisional needs; work with business stakeholders and aligned technology teams to help transform data into valuable insights that inform business decisions
- lead data and model preparation helping represent information cleanly and accurately, applying industry standards, open stands and internal standards where appropriate
- engineer reliable data pipelines for sourcing, processing and distributing data using the data ecosystem effectively
- develop, train, and apply machine-learning models to solve business problems; ensure the quality, security, reliability and compliance of our solutions by applying our digital principles
- learn new technologies and practices and make decisions with long-term sustainability in mind; work in an agile way as part of multi-disciplinary teams
- understand, represent and advocate for client needs, share knowledge and expertise with colleagues, assist in hiring talented data engineers and contribute regularly to our engineering culture and internal communities

Your team
You’ll be building & working within the global Artificial Intelligence, Data & Analytics Center of Expertise platform, closely interacting with our business professionals and data scientist teams across the bank. You will be joining a team that are helping to scale, build and leverage data and AI in the business. Our team partners with different divisions and functions across the Bank to develop innovative digital solutions and expand our technical expertise into new areas. Our team has recently been founded and you will have the opportunity to further shape and establish its footprint in the organization.

Your expertise
- a degree in engineering, science or equivalent from an accredited institution
- ideally 5 + years of experience working with databases, data extraction, data mining & data analytics
- demonstrated operational understanding of modern data concepts, platforms and technologies: building data warehouses, distributed computing, streaming data, modelling concepts, DevOps and DataOps
- proven experience with Dev/Test workflows and concepts , deep knowledge with Kafka, UI development, data interchange paradigms and modern data storage technologies
- expert level data modelling capabilities in both relational and non-relational technologies
- proven leadership (ideally 5+ years) and delivery on projects involving data solutions incorporating diverse datasets; evidence of successful management of complex and diverse tasks, while meeting key objectives and timelines
- analytical mindset and a desire to make organizations more data-driven; ability to translate business objectives into technical requirements with concrete actions
- ability to manage and grow a consistent project pipeline, scoping projects, align and execute on execution with stakeholders ; ability to articulate technical concepts and results to diverse audiences
- solid interpersonal skills, able to build trusted relationships within our team and across the organization at all levels; strong motivation in building our team and being a mentor to hire and upskill technical talent
- experience with Cloud and agile method; transferable experience in technology, consulting and/or finance
It would be beneficially if you have:
- understanding of Data Mesh principles and how they can be used to improve business benefit and increase delivery velocity of Data Assets in a complex environment
