Job Location: Sacramento, CA
IT Facilities Auxiliary Services is comprised of a team of 19 staff supporting 23 different Technologies 24x7x365 throughout the Medical Center Campus as well as offsite Primary Care Network Clinics. We support a combination of Life Safety Critical Technologies in addition to Physical Security, Patient Entertainment and Communications Technologies.

Required Qualifications

3+ years of progressively responsible experience in the selection, installation, support and usage of computer applications and Windows Server-based software or equivalent experience.

3+ years system administration computer environment including hardware, operating system software and application software.

3+ yearsโ experience with network system hardware including Routers, Bridges, Switches, Gateways and Hubs; network operating systems including Microsoft Windows Server 2012 & 16 and/or LINUX; fundamentals of the system development life cycles.
-
3+ yearsโ experience concepts techniques for data modeling and administration; concepts of network protocols including TCP/IP, NetBIOS/NetBEUI and topologies including Ethernet; practices of software/hardware troubleshooting tools such as sniffers, RMON, flukes, and SNMP; concepts of relational and network data base management.

3+ yearsโ experience around infrastructure and clinical application support listed, application development, testing, and cloud native developments.

Extensive Experience troubleshooting and configuring wired and wireless communication equipment and related computer equipment, including application and operating systems software.

Advanced level problem resolution skills to solve highly complex issues, quickly diagnose problems and develop, test, and implement appropriate and effective solutions in a timely manner.

Advanced ability to serve as a technical leader and information resource and to work collaboratively with key personnel and management, providing guidance and recommendations on systems, improvements, upgrades and industry advances and trends.

Advanced knowledge of IT Security best practices and policies to ensure compliance with UCDH polices. Demonstrated skill to secure and harden the operating systems, hardware, software, and data of support technologies.

Advanced analytical skills required to effectively understand complex networks; to manage administrative, clinical, and fiscal information; and to comprehend such information to make timely and correct decisions. Expertise in documentation and reporting with the ability to apply metrics, plan and implement testing systems, collect, and analyze performance data and produce substantive reports and analyses for management use.

Demonstrated advanced level of knowledge and experience with respect to technologies appropriate to the healthcare, research, and education industry.

Excellent planning skills to analyze goals and objectives given the current and potential projects under development; to make accurate short-and long-term projections; to establish needs and resource requirements.

3+ yearsโ experience installing configure and maintain servers in a VMware environment including monitoring of system health and performance to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.

2+ years of experience in Python programming, batch scripting, bash scripts โข PowerShell familiarity and execution

2+ years of experience in Software testing, debugging, setting up of various OS platforms (Windows, Linux, OSX)

Must have a valid California driverโs license

May require working in clinical or patient care areas

Ability to work scheduled or unscheduled overtime, rotating shifts, and be available during off duty periods for on call support.
