Job Location: Los Angeles, CA
Responsibilities
As a key member of the CDM team, you will support the development and maintenance of chargemaster records (EAP/FSC) for our hospital and research areas. This will require close collaboration with Operational Department Managers, ISS CareConnect HB team members, Revenue Integrity staff, and research community. You will apply your extensive knowledge of charging, hospital billing, coding, and pricing as well as your advanced data analysis skills to monitor, maintain and improve the chargemaster records. You will also be responsible for assigning the level of charges for hospital and physician services provided to research patients at UCLA facilities.
Qualifications
We’re seeking a detail-oriented, self-directed leader with:
- Bachelor’s degree in math, statistics, business, computer science or related field and/or related experience
- Three to five years of analytical experience
- Claims review and diagnosis/procedure coding experience a plus
- CCS, CCS-P, CPC-H, or CPC certification preferred
- Solid background in cost analysis and medical coding
- Experience with hospital/physician pricing strategies and formulas
- In-depth understanding of CDM maintenance
- Expertise with CPT, modifiers, ICD9 & ICD10 diagnosis and procedure codes
- Ability to use Epic electronic health records system
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office as well as SQL and Tableau
- Ability to learn Clinical Trials Management System (Forte/OnCore).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, multitasking and prioritizing skills
- Ability to read research protocols for validation and coding
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Strong familiarity with hospital charge masters, physician fee schedules, research documentation and PBS/PBO timelines and billing practices
