The BI & Analytics Team supports UMB’s enterprise BI reporting and analytics by transforming data into actionable insights. This will allow UMB to make informed strategic decisions to further grow the organization.

As a BI & Analytics Engineer, you will be a data visualization expert comfortable with data and BI tools to design, build and deliver strategic insights to the business stakeholders. In this role, you will embrace developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards, determining suitable KPIs, monitoring performance of the business groups, and delivering insights at a regular cadence to business stakeholders. This will empower them to make data driven insights decisions through a self-service platform.

How you’ll spend your time

  • Generate data visualizations and cross-functional reports that convey key performance metrics, significant trends, and relationships across multiple data sources leveraging business intelligence tools.
  • Design and implement effective analytics solutions and models using Snowflake.
  • Serve as a business intelligence point of contact for operational departments within Consumer, Commercial, Operational, Sales Accounting and Fraud.
  • Own metric design and creation by defining business requirements, framework & optimization, and long-term data scalability.
  • Utilize analytics to explore data, and identify key trends and insights from multi-faceted, and high-dimensional data, including working with data scientists to create diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive insights.
  • Map business requirements to source data structures and develop data models from data located within multiple data stores utilizing data solutions such as SQL or Snowflake.

We’re excited to talk with you if

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Software Engineering or equivalent experience commensurate to a degree.
  • You have at least 3 years of Business Intelligence and reporting work experience.
  • You have at least 2 years of experience using Power BI to build visualizations and dashboards that document key findings to drive future optimization.
  • You have SQL skills and experience with traditional RDBMS, MPP and Hadoop.
  • You have knowledge with BI & Data Cloud technologies (i.e. Snowflake, AWS, Matillion, Snaplogic).
  • You have experience with other reporting tools (i.e. Microsoft SSRS, Qlik, Tableau, etc.). Although this is not required, it is highly beneficial.
  • You have experience with other Analytic tools (i.e. Dataiku, Microsoft SSAS, Alteryx, H2O, SAS, Python etc.). Although this is not required, it is highly beneficial.
  • You have strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, interpret and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy, including the ability to clearly and concisely present analysis and recommend specific actions to be taken.

Open to qualified remote candidates.

The pay range for a candidate selected for this position who is based in Colorado is typically $72,870 to $135,450 annually.  The selected candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, including but not limited to work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay for the selected candidate may be above or below this range.  The successful candidate will also be eligible to participate in one or more incentive plans based on company and individual performance.
