Placed Centrally, D&A Champions have access to a pool of talented data experts spread across six continents and work with our partners, functions, categories, and geographies to harmonise decision-making and deliver technology solutions to drive business insight.

The D&A Operations Hub located in Bangalore is the engine behind the ambition and the team comprising of more than 200 Data Experts is entrusted to deliver data & analytics at scale through a team of specialists who are accountable for delivering standard report packs, interactive reports with enhanced visualizations and insights & analytics on data. The services from this team are consumed by the leadership teams of Unilever and hence demands the highest levels of rigor and initiative.

Main purpose of job:

This role requires leading the Data & Analytics – Data Science operations team responsible for supporting Analytics products like Livewire, Jarvis etc. As the Data Science Lead in the D&A Data Science Operations team, the individual will:

• Be the focal point of the Project in creating and providing technical solutions.

• Analyse Business Questions and determines root causes by building hypotheses

• Build Statistical Models to evaluate hypotheses.

• Build Complex Machine Learning Algorithms to complement the hypotheses testing.

• Ensure Process SLA and Business KPIs are delivered on time.

Key accountabilities:

• Collecting ,interpreting and analysing data

• Identifying patterns and trends in data sets

• Defining new data collection and analysis processes

• Develops and manages information to support corporate decision making.

• Performs complex analyses using statistical techniques in understanding the data.

• Analyses problems and determines root causes.

• Builds/Refines data models), using R, Python and Spark.

• Has a good understanding of Statistics and modelling techniques.

• Well versed in techniques for data wrangling.

• Demonstrated Agile mindset and capabilities

• Strong communications skills

• Strong personal accountability for delivery

Experience and qualifications required:

Preferable:

• 4 to 5 years of relevant* experience. *experience in FMCG/Manufacturing Unit/KPO/IT Industry

• Experience in managing vendor partners to drive PoCs and Projects.

• Intermediate to expert knowledge in Model building

• Intermediate knowledge in Statistics

• Expert Knowledge on Scripting tools like Python, R , Azure Stack etc.

Education:

• Professional qualification in Business Analytics/Data Science (Ex: MBA – Business Analytics)

• Professional qualification in Technology (B.Tech/M.Tech, MSc/MCA etc)

Desirable:

• Prior experience in handling teams is preferred.

• Understanding of business drivers, processes and metrics for the FMCG industry.

• Experience in Solution Design and good with technical understanding of Cutting edge Data Science Modelling techniques
