Summary:

Working as part of the Crude Oil Trading desk, this role will provide support to Physical/Paper traders in all areas of Physical and Derivative trade administration and support, along with supporting the operations crude desk in all settlements Internationally & US Domestic trades.


Responsibilities:

  • Review all entered paper deals in ERP systems on the next day after they are executed
  • Check physical and derivatives confirmations from counterparties/brokers and alert traders of any disparities
  • Check physical and derivatives contract reports and the settlement reports received from Operators against trader’s records and the ERP system accordingly
  • Work closely with the traders to develop an understanding of the market and related counterparties, grades, market movements, instruments
  • Obtain an understanding of the Operations team to enable a better interface between the operations team and trading departments
  • Develop knowledge and understanding of the market, support Traders and Analyst in preparing internal report, filing documents, manage trading records and market analysis
  • Review paper position/P&L with OTC counter parties on daily basis. Settle the P&L with OTC parties on Monthly basis
  • Review internally system to ensure all information is aligned with third party data
  • Perform paper monthly end closing with Finance team
  • Accountable for confirming Receivables & Payables on a timely manner and record and process all settlements as per our internal procedures and processes
  • Prepare and communicate payment instruction documentation to the operations team for delivery to various counterparties and customers; scan, send and save the documents internally per company accounting and compliance process
  • Responsible for Budgeting and Forecasting by-weekly and monthly, providing support to Finance on a monthly basis
  • Prepare Monthly Closing to reconcile all trades at the end of the month supporting accounting department and management
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Experience with settlements and trading environment preferred
  • Ideally would have undertaken an internship in a similar role
  • Must be interested in and prepared to learn about oil trading environment
  • Experience working in an international oil and gas company preferred
  • Quick learner and keen to work in a trading environment where high volume of oil is traded
  • Able to communicate with clearly & conscience internally & externally
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent written, spoken and interpersonal communication
  • Fluent Mandarin preferred
  • Self-motivated and pro-active
  • Ability to work remotely and at the office location
