What success looks like in this role:
- Data Backup & Restore Administration using Symantec Veritas NetBackup, Backup Exec, EMC Avamar, CommVault and similar tools
- Ensure Backup and Restore Success rate and other metrics is in line with Contractual requirements
- Daily verification of Backup Jobs and Restart of failed jobs, as required.
- Perform Troubleshooting of Problems / Issues in the Backup system and Backup Target devices, Tape Libraries etc.
- Add / Remove backup jobs for new / decommissioned systems in line with policies
- Escalate to Senior Members and/or Vendors on deep technical issues and work with them through the resolution of such issues
- Execute Incident management, Change Management and Problem management in line with ITIL Standards and in line with client SLAs
- Create Daily, Weekly and Monthly Backup Reports. Review the reports for anomalies and correct them.
- Integrate well and work closely with other Technical Team members
- Work with other cross-functional teams like Server Team, Storage SAN team, Database team, Incident management team etc.
- Communicate issues that may impact the Backup team or other cross-functional teams.
- Communicate with the Onsite Datacenter teams and Media management teams for various function
- 1 to 3 Years of overall Experience in IT Services and Systems Management
- 1 to 3 Years of Data Backup Administration in different Backup technologies Commvault, Avamar, Data Domain, NetBackup, Networker
- Good Knowledge with ITIL Processes (Incident, Problem and Change Management). Preferably ITIL Foundation Certified
- Very Good Learning and Analytical Skills; Should be able to quickly acquire Technical Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge in using Service Management Tool like Remedy, Service Center etc.
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Should have worked in a Remote Support Environment
You will be successful in this role if you have:
• University degree or equivalent education and experience • Minimum of 1 year relevant experienceExcellent verbal and written communication, logical and analytical skills. •Strong knowledge of ITIL Modules like Incident, Change and Problem Management. •Ability to support multiple clients/ technologies as part of shared support delivery. •Must be client focused, display interpersonal skills and be an effective team member.
