We believe that inclusion helps us thrive and grow at United across our collaborative Finance teams consisting of Financial Planning & Analysis, Internal Audit, Treasury, Global Sourcing, Controllership, Investor Relations and more. These teams provide the financial fuel that keeps our operation running from providing detailed analyses of financial planning, performance, and forecasts to managing our investments and financial strategies. Our Finance team plays an integral role in making our airline profitable and successful by meeting our financial goals.
Key Responsibilities:
The Analyst – Payroll Operations will ensure accurate processing and recording of the company’s payroll, provide timely and accurate financial information, and participate in daily payroll processing operations in the PeopleSoft HRMS system. Ensure all support functions are processed timely and accurately while all audit requirements are met. Assist with workflow and prioritization of payroll processing to achieve efficiency and to ensure deadlines are met. Assist the Payroll Management team in creating a winning team environment. Work cross-functionally within the department and the company to drive process improvements leading to best practices and automation while staying up to date on all aforementioned processing, company policies, and applicable payroll laws.
- Manage and process all PeopleSoft payroll functions for a large payroll while remaining consistent with Federal, State, and Local requirements
- Run queries and analyze data from PeopleSoft by using pivot tables and lookups as needed
- Validate payroll summary, payroll registers, and other payroll reports from PeopleSoft
- Plan, develop timelines, address issues, and identify solutions
- Understand and apply applicable labor contracts for various work groups
- Understand and research different time and attendance applications and how they interface with PeopleSoft
- Research and provide guidance on issues while working cross-functionally within the department and the company
- Work closely with high-level internal/external contacts in reviewing, compiling, and processing various sensitive payroll data
- Manage and handle other payroll-related projects as assigned

Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- College education/degree or equivalent work experience required
- 2-3 years of payroll experience required
- Multi-state payroll knowledge
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel
- Ability to drive process improvements on a departmental basis
- Ability to multi-task, exhibit leadership skills, and verbal/written communications skills
- High level of initiative; detail-oriented, excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
- Excellent time management, follow through, and organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and handle stressful situations in a professional manner
- Ability to manage several projects with a high degree of accuracy
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

- Bachelor’s in Finance/Accounting or equivalent field
- PeopleSoft payroll experience
