About this role:
The Healthcare Quality Assurance (QA) Data & Business Intelligence Analyst provides strategic, analytical, and technical support for data and business intelligence activities. This position leverages data to gain key insight into business opportunities and effectively presents findings to stakeholders (Healthcare Compliance, Operations, IT, etc.). The analyst is responsible for gathering data, building data models, data analysis, and creating and distributing business intelligence solutions that report on the overall effectiveness of the UPS Healthcare Quality Management System
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designs, develops, and maintains reports and analytical tools and performs ongoing data quality monitoring and refinement.
- Identifies and analyzes errors and inconsistencies in the data and provides timely resolutions.
- Translates data results into written reports, tables, graphs, and charts to convey information to management and clients.
- Creates ad hoc reports and views on a frequent basis to assist management in understanding, researching, and analyzing issues.
- Uses data mining to extract information from data sets and identify correlations and patterns.
- Organizes and transforms information into comprehensible structures.
- Uses data to predict trends in the customer base and consumer populations and performs statistical analysis of data.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Data Exploration: able to quickly transform and synthesize data from multiple sources and identify optimal data structures to support reporting needs
- Technical Skills: Intermediate knowledge of SQL and tools that leverage SQL language, experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, etc.)
- Conducts Research: Identifies the business problem that requires research; identifies sources of information that are relevant to a problem; reviews literature and data related to the research question; summarizes information from data sources
- Detail Oriented: Captures/documents specific and accurate information; learns subjects thoroughly and in detail; completes work with thoroughness; supplies appropriate details when requested; maintains organized files
- Communication: Communicates findings and insights to senior leadership and operations effectively, uses data to tell a story
- Technical Writing: Uses the appropriate style, level of detail, grammar, and organization of thought in technical writing; drafts standard specialized or technical documents using templates and job aids; considers the end-user’s perspective when creating technical documents
- Technology Knowledge: Demonstrates a general understanding of technology used by the company; communicates technical concepts and terminology; applies standard technology in daily work
Preferences:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or internationally comparable degree) – Engineering, Marketing, MIS, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business/Economics, or related discipline.
- Experience with data warehousing, data science software, or similar analytics/business intelligence systems.
- Knowledge of Supply Chain logistics
- Experience in the Healthcare industry
