This is your opportunity to translate business value to technical teams and simultaneously act as a technical consultant to business teams. The Capability Analyst works closely with business stakeholders to identify requirements and advise the business on best systematic practices for small and large projects with cross functional impact. The Capability Analyst also works closely with Solution Analysts, Developers, and Solution Architects to better understand how related systems/solutions work to ensure documented requirements are met. This role works within an Agile work stream on projects related to improving PCP recommendations for our members.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for PCP recommendation processes
  • Lead end to end requirements gathering sessions to assess, interpret, and analyze customer needs and requirements
  • Understand and discuss the application and implications of changes to process, policies and procedures related to PCP recommendations
  • Provide analytical support and expertise needed to translate requirements into solutions
  • Facilitate meetings and present documented requirements and complex concepts to customers, business leaders, and technical teams
  • Write and document business requirements
  • Support application testing and configuration with project teams to ensure solution will meet the business objectives of the requirements
  • Solve complex problems and/or conduct complex analysis
  • Work with minimal guidance and seek guidance on only complex tasks

Required Qualifications:

  • High School or Equivalent
  • 1+ years with Business Analysis type experience facilitating and documenting requirements or developing standard operating procedures (e.g. process flows, use cases, and/or business requirement documents) gathered from both business and IT counterparts
  • 1+ years of healthcare or healthcare insurance experience
  • Experience working on multiple projects concurrently
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work-related experience
  • 1+ years of experience in querying databases (Select statements and joins)
  • 1+ years of experience analyzing large datasets to identify issues using SQL and Excel (Pivot tables, vlookups, data types, etc.)
  • Experience with healthcare software products (preferably enrollment and/or provider contract systems)
  • Experience communicating with senior leadership teams
  • Experience working with all phases of Agile
  • Knowledge of FACETS, COSMOS, and/or GPS applications
  • Comprehensive knowledge of enrollment/eligibility processes and/or provider data
  • Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate ideas and analysis in a clear concise fashion to clients, colleagues and senior business leaders
  • Ability to communicate clearly in oral and written forms and to effectively present ideas and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate diplomatically with colleagues and clients from various functional areas
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize deliverables
  • Proven ability to work in a highly virtual and matrixed environment

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $54,400 to $97,000. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $60,000 to $106,700. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
