DevOps Application Analyst – INF001813 The DevOps Application Analyst provides solid technical and middleware knowledge to key IS and business partners for current capabilities, new implementations, and upgrades. Ensure that new applications and platforms are operations ready by playing a crucial role in the end-to-end process. Work with solution architects to define operational requirements to identify and address any inter-application dependencies, interfaces, and operational constraints. Participate in incident and problem management activities by providing subject matter expertise, identifying, and troubleshooting issues and problems and ensuring timely resolution. Have strong understanding of cloud-based architectures and stay abreast of industry trends and evolution around emerging technologies such as SaaS, PaaS, etc. for assigned domains. Drive execution of innovative solutions using agile / DevOps methodologies for quick time to market.

Ideal Skillset

We are ideally looking for candidates who are interested in primarily a development function with the following technical experience and/or knowledge:

  • API: REST API, SOAP
  • Programming languages: Java/JSP, JavaScript, C++x
  • Databases: Oracle
  • Code Editors: Microsoft Visual Studio Code (VS Code)
  • Software engineering: Eclipse

Location Note:

The role as a hybrid role in that there will be revolving work arrangement with in-office expectations within our operating footprint (ideally our Chicago, IL or Madison, WI offices) limited to possibly 2 times a month and based on an on purpose, for a purpose model should a meeting or collaborative session be scheduled.

Essential Functions

  • Provide solid knowledge of technical and middleware architecture, and serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to business, operations, and technology teams for responsible domains
  • Provide technical and functional guidance in multiple USCC and third-party applications and platforms at the design and data level
  • Assume end to end technical operational ownership of applications and platforms and partner with internal and external groups to ensure smooth operations
  • Participate in RFP process for new initiatives and ensure that SOWs and SLAs meet operational requirements
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and drive resolution of application issues and defects following established processes
  • Responsible for operational budget for projects and new initiatives within assigned domain
  • Partner with external vendors and service providers and drive production support availability and issue resolution
  • Perform on-call responsibilities and provide off hours support as needed
  • Partner with the Release Management to drive and ensure operational readiness including defining needs to ensure success and reviewing and validating test plans
  • Identify and communicate risks associated with component or application implementation and product rollout
  • Assess potential operational outcomes for new products and features using structured and results driven approach while maintaining speed and agility
  • Perform research and analysis for various initiatives drawing actionable conclusions focusing on customer experience
  • Collaborate effectively as a team player, facilitating positive energy and engagement and maintain merits of Dynamic Organization philosophy

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required preferably in Information Technology or Computer Science. Will also consider equivalent combination of education and experience or specialized training
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience required

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in agile methodologies preferred
  • Experience in cloud-based technologies preferred

  • Programming languages: Java/JSP, J2EE, C, C++, PL-SQL, SQL Plus

  • Standards & Methodology: Agile, Scrum, SAFe, DevOps
