We are looking for a Full-Time Data Management Analyst to join the UTHealth School of Public Health in Houston, TX 77030. This position would offer either a remote or hybrid work schedule. The project you would support involves a multi-disciplinary team providing an external evaluation for a large, state-wide mental health initiative. The project works with multiple data sources and types, covering multiple outcome domains. On a day-to-day basis, you would be merging data from multiple sources and platforms; processing/ cleaning data; generating reports; and interacting with multiple stakeholders (both internal and external).

Position Summary:
Under direction of the Project Manager and Project Senior Analyst, conducts activities to support the evaluation of a multi-component mental health program. Compiles data from existing program data tracking sources to create a database for analysis. Utilizing analytical and data management tools, performs intermediate level data creation, management, analysis and troubleshooting activities in support of multiple research projects and studies. Performs statistical analyses associated with research projects. Tracks all data management and analysis activities in a Manual of Procedures to ensure reproducibility. Contributes to timely analysis of data and produces monthly data reports for funding agencies. Produces analytic reports, compiles data to produce tables for presentation on annual reports for funding agencies. Timely work essential to meet frequent (monthly and annual) deadlines. This position is 100% FTE.
Position Key Accountabilities:
- Responsible for managing/maintaining data for multiple evaluation efforts.
- Creates, supports, and troubleshoots tools or software used to manage data.
- Develops and maintains quality controls for all research databases.
- Designs database queries and compiles, analyzes, and reports statistical data for research projects.
- Maintains organized documentation of data management and analysis procedures in a Manual of Procedures.
- Interfaces with vendors and offsite researchers and coordinators.
- Other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills:
- Detailed knowledge of query design, report creation, and graphic representations of data.
- Knowledge and experience managing complex databases.
- Experience providing analysis of data.
Preferred:
- Experience with health service outcomes.
- Proficiency with SAS is highly preferred.
- Experience maintaining documentation of data management and analysis procedures.
- Proficiency with any of the following is also preferred: R, REDCap, Power BI.
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or related field or related experience in lieu of education.
Minimum Experience:
- Three years of experience with complex databases. May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement.
Physical Requirements: Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive agents.Security Sensitive: This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215
