Job Detail:

Utilimarc is a small and nimble team filled with the most passionate people. We’re looking to add an Analytics Engineer to the mix. You will be responsible for creating data models that deliver cleaned, structured data for analysis and complex algorithm development, and improve data quality and derive new business insights to our customers. In addition, you will work with data scientists to model data from our near-real time vehicle data streams and augment it with other dimensional data such as: fuel transactions, vehicle maintenance data, mobile app data and other geo-spatial data.

  • Assemble, explore, clean, and structure data for analysis and algorithm development.
  • Build, and maintain data models within our data warehouse for effective analysis and more complex algorithm development.
  • Work closely with analysts and data scientists to build tools to turn data into knowledge for making sound business decisions.
  • Identify and flag data quality issues and create methods to report and resolve.
  • Create and maintain documentation around data models, including data definitions, relationships, and assumptions.
  • Develop a strong understanding of fleet management practices, processes, and assumptions.
  • Manage ad-hoc requests from internal and external customers and provide accurate results.
  • Write and maintain performant code that meets our coding standards and best practices, and help to define, improve, and advocate for these standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field
  • 2-4 years of experience with data science, statistics, data mining and/or digital analytics
  • Experience working with relational databases, including large scale data processing.
  • Experience with statistical software packages (R, Python, Spark, etc.).
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python programming languages.
  • Experience with git.
  • Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaborate with team members.
  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to translate requirements into implementation.
