Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Human Resources, Finance, Business, Statistics, or a related field. 7 years’ experience in directly related exempt level position, including at least 5 years of data/metrics analysis and reporting.
Job Summary:
The Senior HR Business Intelligence Analyst derives insights on workforce related issues from various HR information systems. They provide advice and reports to address requests from other HR professionals and institutional leadership or customers. This position serves as the HR data expert supporting decision making and strategic planning as needed and is also in charge of monitoring data quality and suggesting best practice to improve business operations. This role works as a liaison with the Information Services department to design sophisticated reporting and analytical tools, including business definition mapping to source data systems, end-user tool selection and delivery etc.
Job Duties:
- Act as an internal consultant for HR leadership, business unit heads, and key organization stakeholders to provide advice, guidance and technical support on HR data.
- Design measurements using statistical knowledge. Develop actionable, proactive metrics and KPI that drive forecasting capabilities and strategic insights.
- Perform critical thinking and analysis and discover trends/insights in the data, based on thorough understanding of the source data system, data capturing process and data structure.
- Design and create reports on all aspects of Human Resources Management.
- Interpret, translate and communicate regulatory reporting standards to ensure compliance.
- Monitor data quality from data entry process to data warehouse aggregation. Detect data errors in HR information systems to improve data accuracy at the source.
- Engage in continuous learning to adapt to new technology on data extraction, query and analysis.
- Train new hires, provide mentorship, guidance and advice to other analysts.
- Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
- Performs related duties as required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong problem -solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL programming and statistical applications.
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft and/or other HR information systems and processes.
- Working knowledge of data visualization tools, such as Tableau and Power BI.
- Ability to effectively analyze and synthesize large amounts of complex data into relevant insights.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate analytics to a non-technical audience in a logical and concise manner.
- Ability to manage ambiguity, risk, and changing direction of projects and strategies.
- High professional standards for customer service, confidentiality, and quality of work.
- Superior project management skills (particularly with respect to organization, planning, and time management).
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Data Science, Human Resources, Finance, Business, Statistics, or a related field.
Salary Range:
Actual salary commensurate with experience.
Work Schedule:
Remote work, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm and as needed on occasion.
