The Data Analytics Internship opportunity is a paid summer internship for those interested in data analytics and visualization. In our culture steeped in heritage yet on a quest to never idle, we doubt you will get bored. You will accelerate value for our customers on cross-functional teams that directly align with the organization’s vision. You will have the opportunity to solve problems analytically, creatively, and strategically.
What our internship provides:
- Paid summer internship (up to 12 weeks)
Responsibilities include:
- Collecting and analyzing data to provide quality insights that drive actionable recommendations for business teams
- Data modeling and integration of multiple sources of data into centralized data marts for consumption by the project team and other business units
- Working on ad hoc projects as needed to provide business insights or data modeling
- Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion
What You’ll Need
- Must be enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s Program (junior or senior status) OR MBA program
- Business-relateded disciplines are helpful, but all majors are eligible for consideration
- Previous experience with data analysis and development of data visualizations. Ability to move beyond summarizing data, to provide insignts and identify trends.
- Ability to be resourceful and demonstrate initiative
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to document ideas clearly
- High energy and intellectual curiosity
- Strong analytical skills and a consultative approach to addressing customer needs
- Strong business acumen, including basics in business metrics & financials
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems creatively
- Ability to apply previous experience and knowledge to new situations and problems
- A strong interest in analytics and data visualizations
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, result-driven team environment
- Microsoft Office experience (e.g., Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Must be authorized to work the US.
