Title: Junior Business Analyst

Reporting to: Project Manager

FLSA Status (US Staff only): Exempt

Summary:

The Operational Risk and Project Management Team is responsible for supporting the design and development of tactical and strategic projects across the firm. As a member of the Team, the Junior Business Analyst will support project managers throughout the project lifecycle. The Junior Business Analyst will play an integral part of the project life cycles. Under the direction of Project Managers, the Junior Business Analyst will aide in:

Assist with project documentation, such as, but not limited to:

  • Business Requirements
  • Workflows
  • Gap Analysis
  • Test Scripts/Plans
  • Functionality Matrices
  • User Guides/Policies and Procedures

Assist with operational project management functions such as, but not limited to:

  • Preparation agenda and minutes for standing meetings
  • Project meeting scheduling
  • Preparation of project progress reports
  • Assist with project testing
  • Track testing results through QC and UAT phases
  • Assuring issues are addressed in a timely manner

This is a multi-faceted role where you, as the Junior Business Analyst, will be reporting to multiple stakeholders throughout a project lifecycle. You will need to be flexible and be able to switch “hats” seamlessly as a key for success.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the financial services industry,
  • Ability to recognize and summarize major patterns, identify edge cases, and suggest recommendations to the business in order to enable decision making,
  • Analytical and problem solving skills with ability to grasp complexities and relationship between issues,
  • Ability to analysis data structures and SQL databases using code,
  • Ability to communicate effectively with business units to establish an understanding of business needs, and translate requirements to technical staff to support development activities,
  • Ability to investigate internal client needs to provide input into the design of system functional enhancements,
  • Skill in understanding and focusing on the business unit needs, establishing credibility and building relationships with business units,
  • Knowledge and understanding of business analysis best practices, techniques and tools,
  • Ability to demonstrate interpersonal skills and manage conflict,
  • Ability to operate with a global team and manage multiple priorities,
  • Ability to work in office a minimum of 3 days per week.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or Operational Research preferred,
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in asset management and operational analysis experience

Compensation:

  • If this position will be performed in whole or in part in New York City, the base salary range is $75,000 to $ 95,000. Individual salaries may vary based on different factors including but not limited to, skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location. Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with this position.
