Job Description
General Summary:
The Business Engagement & Technology Principal Analyst will partner with business leadership to deliver capabilities and execute on a roadmap that align to support business strategy. Additionally, the Business Engagement & Technology Principal Analyst will maintain reliable, scalable and compliant systems that easily meet business needs by efficient delivery and enhancements that provides opportunities for developing and implementing innovative solutions and integrations.
The Business Engagement & Technology Principal Analyst will be a technical resource in ensuring
delivery and support of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and a wide range of custom solutions in support of their business partners. The primary responsibilities of this position will be to provide operational technical support as well as technical leadership for vendor IDBS e-Workbook cloud upgrade projects (non-GxP (v10.4.1) and GxP regulated instances (v10.1.3) of IDBS e-Workbook). These responsibilities will include technical troubleshooting and issue resolution including following change management process, authoring business analysis, testing and other documentation meeting regulated GxP and internal Vertex expectations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Become a trusted partner of the business leaders within their remit
  • Understand their needs and vision, and deliver technology solutions to support and enable their goals and objectives
  • Provide insights on how technology can improve business processes to enable operating efficiencies and support the achievement of business goals and objectives.
  • Provide technical operational and project support for two on-premise / cloud instances of IDBS E-Workbook
  • Partner with business, IDBS resources and project teams to support technical work related to upgrade to v22.3 and migration to vendor cloud of both the non-GxP and GxP instances of IDBS E-Workbook
  • Facilitate coordination between IDBS upgrade resources and internal Vertex colleagues to support troubleshooting and reimplementation of integrations between IDBS E-Workbook in the vendor cloud and on prem systems
  • Provide first tier operational support for system users
  • Support user access control following relevant procedures
  • Troubleshoot, triage, and resolve support tickets submitted by the system users
  • Partner with DTE colleagues and/or vendor resources to ensure successful resolution of issues
  • Review error logs and system output for opportunities to continuously improve operations
  • Lead business and DTE stakeholders in a change management process
  • Refine and execute the technology strategy by leading the evaluation, selection, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of technology solutions.
  • Develop and maintain a long-term life cycle plan for the ongoing maintenance and management of systems.
  • Manage relationships with our strategic software vendors and service providers
  • Work closely with DTE Compliance, Internal Audit, and Quality Assurance groups as needed to ensure compliance with all appropriate regulations, as well as our DTE system lifecycle and change management requirements

  • Good understanding of the business, processes, and any appropriate regulatory environments

  • Good knowledge of running IT managed services or outsourced/ offshore teams
  • Very strong MS Office skills, including MS Project & Visio, Excel and PowerPoint experience
Other Requirements
  • Experienced in building productive partnerships with business stakeholders and aligning them around a recommendation/solution
  • Able to build and maintain effective relationships with clients to ensure timely operational support
  • Results oriented contributor with a proven track record of on-time project delivery for large, complex projects with global stakeholders
  • Able to manage own workload with minimal direction
  • In-depth knowledge in the core disciplines of project management, service management, business analysis, solution design, delivery, testing and computer system validation
  • Strong understanding of the lab business, processes, and any appropriate regulatory environments
  • Business Analysis skills in order to gather, analyze and document business workflows and requirements that can be used for problem solving and solution definition
  • Knowledge of IDBS EWB APIs and A-tune modules for IDBS EWB
  • Python language to support EWB integration scripts
  • Windows and Linux server experience
  • Experience in Agile methodology
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in technology discipline or equivalent
