Position Overview

Analytics & Data Science team is responsible for analyzing customer and marketing data, build modelling solutions and service advanced analytics requests from brands like Victoriaโ€™s Secret and Bath & Body Works. The Data Scientist will be responsible to analyze and model structured/unstructured data using advanced modelling methods and implement algorithms and software needed to develop solutions to business questions and present findings with actionable recommendations. This position will report directly to โ€“ Senior Manager, Analytics & Data Science.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Understand the business and performance metrics for the brand from a customer and marketing point of view.
  • Apply appropriate methodologies ranging from simple hypothesis tests to building statistical / machine learning models to analyze data and build solutions for problems around Marketing / targeting models, measuring promo effectiveness, pricing, customer segmentation etc.
  • Execute predictive model scorings in order to support various customer marketing initiatives.
  • Query structured & unstructured data (from hybrid sources & platforms) and perform exploratory data analysis.
  • Present ideas and findings with actionable recommendations in an easily consumable manner.
  • Stay current with business results, strategies, industry standards and best practices.

Qualifications


Qualifications

  • Background in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, operations research, computer science with 2-4 years of experience in data science.

Skills/Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in customer / marketing analytics role preferably in retail domain
  • Proficiency SQL, R / Python and SAS (Base SAS, EG, E-Miner),
  • Experience in working with
    • Relational databases (Teradata)
    • Big data platforms (Hadoop/Hive/Spark)
    • Cloud (preferably Azure)
  • In-depth knowledge of statistical/ML procedures that are applied for building classification and regression models.
  • Able to present reports and analysis using Excel and PowerPoint in clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to automate insights / reports using R-shiny, Dash or SAS Macros.
  • Ability to understand business needs to generate relevant accurate insights or translate business needs into analytical specifications
  • Demonstrated analytical & problem-solving skills, ability to interpret reports, analyze trends and provide insights
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate complicated statistical/ML solutions to business stakeholders in a simplified manner.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritize, multitask and work under tight timelines
  • Good to have: Excel VBA, Version Control
