INDIA R&D CENTER
Vimaan Robotics has an India R&D center in Bengaluru. We have a pool of diverse functional teams- Computer Vision, Software, Hardware, Firmware, Operations, Data Science etc. working with each other to build and deploy next-gen products in actual customer facilities. We have talented and passionate people with a mix of experienced and young individuals driving the company
Team Charter
The team in India is responsible for a multitude of functions including, but not limited to the following:
- Develop models and algorithms using Deep Learning and Computer Vision on the captured data to provide meaningful analysis to our customers
- Some of the projects include – object detection, OCR, barcode scanning, stereovision, SLAM, 3D-reconstruction, action recognition etc.
- Develop integrated embedded systems for our drones – including embedded system platform development, camera and sensor integration, flight controller and motor control system development, etc.
- Architect and develop full stack software to interface between our solution and customer database and access – including database development, API development, UI/UX, storage, security and processing for data acquired by the drone
- Integration and testing of various off the shelf sensors and other modules with drone and related software
- Develop algorithms related to autonomy and flight controls.
Responsibilities
As company is scaling its products across various customer facilities, you as Deep-Learning Engineer will be contributing in building, training and deploying deep-learning models. This would involve having in-depth understanding of data, annotation quality, training methods and model optimization for deployment. There will be exposure to MLOps as well for folks who are interested. The model deployment targets can vary from servers to edge devices as well.
- Identify and train models which satisfy accuracy, speed and robustness benchmarks.
- Optimize inference & training time on embedded systems as well as server machines.
- Data curation; observing and analyzing data to prepare representative and diverse training and evaluation sets
- Verify generalizability of built models by testing on a diverse eval-set.
- Data clean-up; ensure the fidelity of ground truth by sampling annotations and building tools to automate such processes.
- Coordinate and manage in-house annotation team to lay out the guidelines for labelling ground truth.
- Work closely with other teams – autonomous flight and the flight operations team to understand environment and challenges and build corresponding models.
Qualifications
- Sound knowledge and hands-on experience on the following is a must:
1. Data structures and algorithms
2. Machine learning and Deep learning
3. Probability, Statistics and Linear Algebra
4. Familiarity with open source frameworks such as OpenCV, TensorFlow, Caffe, PyTorch, Keras etc.
- Enjoy the challenge of building a neural network from scratch
- The ability to pick the right framework and network for the task at hand
- Proficient with curation of data – separation of development and test data, data augmentation techniques.
- Proficient in Python.
- Experience with open-source version control system is a plus.
- Deeply hands on coder, capable of writing code and debugging systems.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure startup environment and adapt to rapidly changing requirements.
Please note that this is not a data scientist job. We are looking for individuals who have implemented ML/DL in the computer vision domain
